Here are some popular threads from 2023 to jog your memory. There were a lot of fun ones and several contested ones.
Hi there, as an enthusiastic vegetable gardener I though it might be nice to share the ups and downs of the gardening year with you others who also have the joy of home grown produce, and which I invite you to share your stories here as the year progresses.
For myself, apart from preparing the raised beds with some compost and general slow release fertiliser I have done nothing yet but get my seeds and sets. I am eager to get started but the forecasters keep promising hard frosts and snow in M…

Not for the first time, the BBC crumbles under pressure from the tories and their supporters - funnily enough, supporters who include the BBC chairman and the BBC director general. And then all the other sports presenters and commentators decide not to support the BBC in their action of taking Lineker off the air. So no MOTD tonight.
I’d note that other BBC presenters seem to be able to make comments on politics outside their BBC job without anyone complaining. (Andrew Neil, for example, is edi…
Anne Widdecombe has come off the fence on the affordability of the humble Cheese Sandwich to folks on a limited income, let her eat cake.
I’ve been going through some mental turmoil lately & my doctor has prescribed me some antidepressants.
I undid the packet to take the first one last night & was concerned to read on the leaflet that they shouldn’t be taken by people who have heart problems or who have recently had a heart attack.
As I had a heart attack in October that rules me out.
Why did the doctor prescribe these for me without reading my notes? It could have caused me more harm than good.
I have contacted the surgery & …
A submersible used to take people to view the wreck of the Titanic has gone missing in the Atlantic Ocean, sparking a search and rescue mission.
The Boston Coastguard told the BBC on Monday that an operation to find it was under way.
It is not clear how many people, if any, were on board at the time it went missing.
Small submersibles occasionally take paying tourists and experts to view the wreck of the Titanic.
Multi day trips to the wreck cost tens of thousands of dollars and one dive …

My favorite thread was the Titanic submersible one. It had mystery, suspense and international intrigue. Sad that the tragedy ended badly.
What was your favorite thread on this forum in 2023?
Those Welsh lessons died the death😀
Wasn’t there one about Lloyds Pharmacy?
Thankfully gone!Lloyds that is…not the thread.
Their replacement on my estate are much better😀.

the sausage thread
That’s this one.
Can’t see this game here so…
Create a Four Word phrase using the last letters of the words in the previous phrase.
I’ll start you off…
Sausage dinners Are Delicious
So…the next phrase uses these letters…
ESES
in that order
Have fun.
You could argue it’s this one, but not enough sausage in this one to qualify.
I remember about 4 years ago here in Perth furore broke out.
The great Charity Sausage Sizzle operated by Bunnings have been given a directive that the onion must go on the bread first. Sausage on top.
This is serious stuff. Health and Safety inspectors will make surprise visits,(undercover) to nab those not doing the rightie.
This came about because one gentleman slipped and fell on a caramelised onion which had itself slipped off the sausage as a customer started devouring said sausage.

This was my favourite thread of 2023 Revamped from 2021.
It’s great to interact with other members of the site. I would love to spend 2024 visiting members from all over the country and seeing if they are just like their posting personalities…

All I know is that I posted two letters this year…one to the DWP and another to the council.
Was shocked at the price of a first classstamp.
How serendipitous.
Today I went for a drive to Monadnocks Conservation Park, Glen Eagle Rest Area in Jarrahdale,
Fairbridge Farm at Pinjarra and Mandurah.
Three photos were taken of items that have Seen Better Days
I have included one of them on the post described.

Haha. I’m not in your time zone. For me, the first thread was this. 20 minutes after 1/1/23.
Famous news anchor Barbara Walters has died.
