Actually not Annie, he believes (as does Trump) that it provides a platform for free speech unlike most of the social media sites. You might not like the things that can (and do) get posted on X but there are some very valid posts by well respected people who were to afraid to speak out on, say, the BBC.
It all depends who you follow as you are probably aware, and it is a good barometer of what people actually think about social and political issues.
Freedom of speech is abused by lack of fairness of speech. There is no fairness on X. Musk had the algorithms that drive the promotion of tweets changed in order to greatly favour his posts and that of people he wants to see re-posted. This means that some tweets are suppressed and some tweets are artificially pushed out. This is not fairness of speech. Its not even true freedom of speech.

it’s not about what people post, it’s about the algorithm of what people get to see. All social media has someone at the centre (or some programmed bot bots) deciding what we see and what sinks out of sight
In this case the guy owning the platform and controlling the algorithm also works for the government. If you think that’s ok then you’re going against pretty much everything you have been saying on here for the past few years.

If you remember I said, money and political influence, she never had the “political influence” traitor Don had. You have to remember TT (traitorTrump) had the political clout, and where did his political clout come from, Christian America, who voted in the extremist GOP members who support traitor Don. You cannot mix religion in politics, religion is the most intolerant , self- serving,chauvinistic, and toxic ideology invented / practiced by man. History has shown us the truest form of evil on earth is unchecked religion, extremism in any form is dangerous.

You could say that about anyone who lost the election - eg Trump i n the last one - or anyone else. Obviously there is always someone who loses - but that doesnt change the point about the US system needing big bucks behind the candidates

The main thing I like about Elon Must is that he’s an engineer and not woke, unlike the set of planks that are in our government.
Look he was good at what he does with tech, but his involvement with politics and mixing his tech prowess with political office is something that should scare us all. He could end up in complete control of our lives. What do we really know about him and who voted for him?
Edited as just saw a clip of Trump talking about Robert F Kennedy Junior. It wasn’t the subject matter but the banner on his lectern that caught my eye - “Trump will fix it”.

I take no responsibility for American people electing Trump to be their 47th President, or who he decides to put in his cabinet (or whatever they call it over there) because I didn’t vote for him.
However, looking at the opposition I can understand why they did it. There are many things that Trump proposes to do and I agree with most of them, but not all…
Elon Musk has certain qualities that have made him the man that he is, so only time will tell if those qualities will be realised in his new job. I can’t imagine them calling me for advice…But you never know…
Except Trump’s words and his actions are 2 different things, Trump was totally worthless in his first term, and with the exception of seeking political revenge, supporting laws / censorship policies to appease the Christian far right, support laws/ regulation (deregulation) / cut taxes for Corporate America / affluent (nothing for the working class, elderly , the poor), the same can be expected in his 2nd term. In Jan. 2025 Fascist Don will taint the Oval Office want to lead a deeply divided nation he betrayed, and it will be downhill from there ( a repest of 2016).
Fascist Don is a self-serving, egotistical, compulsive liar , and the scary part about his followers / supporters are basically the Christian Right, amongst the most volatile puppet groups.
