You’re wishing for a Fascist UK, welcome to the new world of Fascism, where freedoms and all that comes with it will be a thing of the past, all in the name of a “man made belief concept”, Christianity, humanity has never been in more peril than it is today.
In the world of “Corpocracy” anything not about the pockets of the affluent is about “Marxism”, Fascism is, and always has been, the enemies of any ideology that did not fill the “coffers” of the affluent, and the greed of religious.
Indeed this takes us off topic for this thread but such a direct accusation requires a response.
Your claim is utter crap and completely wrong. I did not give up on the UK. I do not pour scorn on the UK.
I primarily went to rural France to be in rural France - not to give up on the UK. In the push / pull of a decision, this will was pull not push. The move allowed me to achieve a higher standard of living because housing and land is much more affordable. That’s a fact, not a criticism of the UK. I could have chosen northern Scotland to achieve the same - would that be giving up on the UK? Everything would be the same except the weather.
I still care deeply about the success of the UK and the people who live there. My criticism is only ever of policies, decisions and proposals that I do not see as benefitting the British people. That is not pouring scorn on the UK - that is highlighting bad ideas. If I did not care then I would not be putting forward criticisms and alternatives.
The fact that you cannot see this is the problem. You are equating the country of Britain with any policy (in place or proposed) that you see as “good”. If the policy has your approval then you see any criticism as criticism of the country. If it happens that I see such policies, the ones you see as good, as being bad for the UK - then I pour scorn on those policies. You then seem happy to claim that this me is pouring scorn on the UK. Nope. Wrong. I’m pouring scorn the policy and the people who support the policy. Which might inlcude you. But it is not the UK I am criticising.
The beginnings of American Fascism, and the downfall of Democracy, divide and conquer, our enemies are / will be quite satisfied, soon we will be goose stepping alongside the Russians, Putin, Fascist Don, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping, the American voters have spit on the graves and efforts of American veterans and lost heroes.
“Estimates that a mass deportation program could leave as many as one million difficult-to-fill potential job openings”.
Employers would have to pay more in wages to recruit staff, putting the price of goods up; or go out of business.
We should have learned from the recent pandemic the large void immigrant workers will leave in our work force, along with the huge hike in wages it will require to replace them, that is what happens when you put a fool in the Oval Office, Fascist Don’s tariffs and immigrant policies are going to dramatically increase the cost of living in the USA, along with the economy. This fool ( Fascist Don) is talking about tax decreases (as if the affluent even pay any) along with his economic policies (which will only destroy our economy) which will result in a huge drop in tax revenue, leaving less money to even run the country along with a tremendous addition to our nations deficit his policies will cause, way to go Fascist American voters !!! One of the reasons they say Trump was reelected was the economy before the the pandemic hit us, had nothing to do with Fascist Don, it was Obama’s recovery program which brought us back from the worst economic downturn since the Depression, Trump had absolutely no accomplishments in his first except that mess he created with Afganistan, leaving Biden to clean up.
Yes,everyone is making out he’s some sort of genius at business and politics but he’s failed at both. That’s the benefit of having the mainstream media behind you.
A very good analysis by TYT of what went wrong and why Harris lost.

Emotions can be politically transformative. Resentment, contempt both negative and corrosive.
Please accept my apologies, my wording may have been out of order in your case Links.
I don’t pour scorn on the UK, I like the place, I just wouldn’t want to live there (but there are plenty of other places I wouldn’t want to live also).
Leaders like Boris Johnson and the Brexit fiasco give one a reason to leap out of bed each morning to read the news. Australian politics is deadly dull.
“When stupidity is considered patriotism, it is unsafe to be intelligent”
-----Issac Asimov
USA voters are about to learn this lesson first hand, courtesy of Fascist Don and his GOP cohorts.
Wasn’t Asimov a fiction writer?
Yes he was, and what has that to do with the validity of his quote ? Or even the stupiidity of the US voter ?
Mark Twain once said: Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
To pause and reflect when you’re on the side of the majority is to practice intellectual humility. It’s recognizing that just because something is widely accepted doesn’t make it infallible. Popular opinion can be influenced by various factors—cultural norms, societal pressures, or even misinformation. When you find yourself agreeing with the majority, it’s worth asking: Are you doing so because you’ve genuinely thought through the issue, or because it’s easier to follow the crowd? Are you truly convinced by the logic and evidence, or are you swayed by the comfort of consensus?
I understand that one part of the Trump campaign included a simple but highly impactful message:
“Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you.”
Some of this is pretty crude. Naming Harris simply as “Kamala” lessens her status, makes her seem childlike - and conveniently emphasises her foreign-ness. And of course its not a matching “Donald”. Its a oh so very senior President Trump.
Some of this is quite subtle. The gender-preference concept plays well to those many who don’t understand or sympathise with people dealing with gender identity issues. It also highlights a sense that the left cater to such minorities while ignoring the economic plight of millions. That is a weakness that the intellectual left has created.
And some of this reflects a lie. Trump is not going to look after “you” unless “you” are wealthy corporations and wealthy individuals. The inference is that he’ll look out for you ordinary folk, but somehow I doubt it. First and foremost he’ll look after Trump.
But it shows how a ruthless campaign can really deliver an effective message if the other side leaves themselves open to easy attacks.
Yes, I saw that campaign Ad too and thought the same as you about the crafty underlying layers of thought manipulation.
I think one of the reasons that people voted for Trump was the endless tirade of court cases that proved to me and many others, that the democrats wagging the tail of the establishment and media, were obviously out to get Trump at any cost, even if most of it was made up lies.
If they could do that to Trump, what chance have ordinary citizens got if they fall foul of the establishment. They even tried to assassinate him…Even some democrats must have been embarrassed by the circus.
Of course none of the others do that do they…
Are you saying that Trump with all his unprecedented power does not belong to the establishment? Trump’s court cases are different from those ordinary citizens would be involved in.
