Or me pauline?..
Thanks Lion Queen, I’m glad it made you giggle,
It was intended as tongue in cheek…I can’t compete with Lucy…
That thought is going to keep me awake all night Tabby…
You have to decide when appealing becomes appalling, and who’s eye is deciding and beholding.
Very true SF…beauty is in the eye of the beholder…
With no pun intended…small steps.
I wish you the best. You have the right attitude, no all you need is perseverance and maybe a small dose of luck…
I hope you had some knickers on foxy when you posed for that
Lucy credit where its due…blimey you are in good shape.
Bev wheres that picture you put up on Facebook about starting a diet on Monday…thats me
Ha! Ha! …Yes I was wearing the bare essentials Summer…And socks!
No, I have been swimming most of my life, it only started after I I got Dageus and was using the throwing lunger several times a day. I did go to the GP about it and she told me it was RSI. I stopped doing it and the pain lessened every day. Now he only gets the ball a couple of times a week and only for about ten minutes. He’s ten now so prefers to walk instead of tear about after a ball.
During the first lockdown I really missed going to the gym so, as soon as I could, I bought a spin bike which has been great exercise and I like that I can use it whenever I have time. Other than the bike, I have some weights and resistance bands, do some low level yoga (no headstands!) and aerobics.
I am just off on my bike now for a 5 mile cycle while watching the tv
Oh, you’ve got one of those, you can rent them as well?..
Yes, you can. I bought my one after house sitting for my niece and using hers. Renting is a good option if you are not sure whether you will use it after the novelty wears off.
You can get the high tech ones as well, where you have a personal trainer with you all the way on the monitor in front of you…as you cycle…no doubt a recording…some are over £2,000 to buy.
Yes, the monitor is bluetooth so you can connect to any bluetooth phone, tablet, laptop, tv etc. There are also inbuilt training sessions and you can even create your own so you don’t need to subscribe to online training classes unless you particularly want to. I find YouTube just as good to be honest.
Peloton’s are in that price range but I couldn’t justify paying that much! The gym has Peloton bikes and they are quite big.
I’ll stick to my swimming. No way would I pay out that kind of money for a blooming exercise bike.
Like yourself, I had a routine until after I tore a rotator cuff which took just over a year to heal. I stopped swimming since I couldn’t nor could I do yoga so gained weight.
Now I’m on a Noom program to help lose weight and am. In December I purchased an ebike and have been riding it along the ocean’s edge. The hills are so steep that I figured an electric bike would be great for help going up the hills. It’s got assisted pedal you can use when you want.
Anyway it’s a blast. I can get going at quite a clip but I’m going to be very careful. The scenery is breathtaking.
Am I jealous of the buff body pic?
YESSSSSS!!!
Not to look sexually attractive but more for the stability and confidence being in that kind of shape offers. Being in shape in the ‘60’s is challenging for sure.
I’m in good shape, just some might call it the ‘wrong shape’ lol
I managed to keep it going until my seventies (only just) but fear not, although my belly has somewhat enlarged over the weeks of inactivity, I intend to come out fighting after my final visit to the cardiologist on Monday…Daily Five mile brisk walks continue, with the odd six and seven milers thrown in for good measure. Wow! is that the time…Off out into the sunshine now for Friday’s walk…
Not all exercise bikes are £2k and there is a difference between an exercise bike and a spin bike but, swimming is great exercise so you probably don’t need a bike anyway.
