That’s still very good exercise…it will pay off, when done regularly.
Running can be quite harsh on the Spine… I was athletic, running was my main love. Took part in County Events, not above that though. All had to stop when my spine got in a mess…
So walking to me is the way forwards…not pounding the pavements so to speak…
Oh, it’s regularly! My dog makes sure of it!
I’ve had pinched / trapped nerves before and refuse to get coloured dye injected into me nor do I wish to be operated on. I realize this generates more money for these conventional doctors but I’m not interested in going down that path . I very much trust my holistic chiropractic team of specialists thanks.
I still manage to go for a 45 - 60 minute walk every morning.
I’ve had one for almost 12 weeks. I just did the recommended exercises every day & gradually it got right. I’m ok now & looking forward to resuming my keep fit/walking etc…
I want to ask you Bratti - what did your holistic chiropractic team of specialists do to make you right & how long did it take?
Get a dog!
Hi Carol,
My chiropractor is doing adjustments in my back around the area but the new improved way. Instead of twisting me around like a pretzel, he has a special table with a bottom which drops down. The adjustments are very subtle yet precise.
He told me which exercises to do which I have been doing and suggested I eat less salt and more non inflammatory foods.
The biggest thing though is that I got rid of my aero pilates reformer exercise equipment.
This doctor reminded me that I have some scoliosis in my back and with all the injuries I’ve had , this type of unit might not be best. Due to my back curvature, it was doing more damage than good.
Now I found my balance balls, blew them up and have been doing pilates on the balance ball as well we my namaste yoga and I am feeling much better.
For about 2 plus weeks I used these products which offered substantial relief and occasionally took an inflammatory pill or Robaxecet - pain + anti- inflammatory pills.
My back is doing much better now but I did have to start walking a bit less when it was bad as the walking was aggravating it ( too much walking )
I very much like my chiropractor since he only does the bare minimum and doesn’t try to oversell his services.
It has been about 3 weeks. I think another week and it will be all better. I won’t every consider a pilates reformer again . My back has too much curvature in it and always has.
Thanks for asking.
You’re welcome.
I have an exercise bicycle some 30 years old. It is called a Tunturi. I regularly do 30 minutes pedalling every day. I also get out of the house to walk a minimum of 40 minutes a day unless the weather is really bad. I think exercise is really important for old people. I agree with the saying that vigorous exercise is better than gentle exercise and gentle exercise is also better than no exercise.
I have been slack the last few years but last winter over heard my daughter and her friends talking about having a ‘beach body’.
I decided to use the concept as motivation, aiming to be a bit trimmer but ideally, fitter and healthier, by summer.
It’s been great. Yoga and swimming mostly, trying not to stress out the joints too much.
Pleasantly surprised by how things are going.
Exhibit A…
Lake Dunstan in Central Otago if any one is wondering…
There’s me thinking what a great body I had, then along comes Lucy, walks away with her head down,…( as in me)
Seriously Lucy, I’m in my sixties, I think I’ve got a good 20 years on you…please don’t tell me you’re in you 60s.
You look fantastic girl!!..
I hope not to many men on here aren’t get hot under the collar!..you naughty tease.
Trust me, when I stand up, all the wrinkles settle back into place and all the excess flesh and skin happily sags again.
And no…I am not in my 60’s

I don’t believe that for one minute .you look fantastic, could see that picture on a swimwear or a fitness magazine…you go girl!!..
Didn’t I say to trust me?! lol
It’s great to work out if your health allows it, I have a five minute pro, twist and shape plus I go jogging…I was going to renew my membership at the gym, it’s jumped up from £20 a month, which I was paying, to £40 a month…no way will I pay that, I’m going to buy a cross trainer, I loved working out on those, I miss the treadmill as well, but, don’t have room in my tiny house for one…I feel fantastic being trim and I love that I’m still a size 10 in trousers, even they are a little too big…8 is a bit to tight.
Here is me, working out
Now that’s worth a lot more than one like…Fabulous Lucy…
Think I might have to put Lucy on ignore.
I did over an hour on my twist and shape yesterday, it’s taken me ages to increase my pull ups on the 5 minute pro shaper, I have it on the middle peg, …if I had it on the lowest peg, I could easily manage over 5 mins, this middle one is more difficult ,as it raises it higher, I’ve managed 30 pull ups so far, I do 4 of those throughout the day, I can’t believe how trim it keeps my waist……keeping fit is definitely a lifestyle choice, I’d be crawling up the wall ,if I couldn’t exercise.
You got yourself in that predicament, get yourself out!
