Who the hell eats KFC?
You don’t think half strangling a Gull - or any other bird for that matter - is cruel? Would you feel the same if a child had taken his doughnut and received similar treatment?
If the Gull already had the food in it’s beak - why would anyone want it back? Would you fancy a half eaten doughnut?
I was brought up to not eat food in the street - but - if he had to do it, why choose a place where there was such an obvious risk from interested Gulls? It’s not as though their snatching habits were not known.
I stand by my opinion - he is a disgusting example of a human being.
Hi
Nope, I am on serious blood thinners, far to much of a risk.
Yuk - no-one in my house!
Totally agree with all of that, Tabby.
Well, yeah, exactly. And why would you want it publicly known? Buy hey, its Scotland. The place of deep fried mars bars
Challenged him? Is that what you call it?
I’d have him by the ***** until he let go.
I have zero tolerance for animal abusers:018:
I completely agree.
I don’t believe in hurting any animal, if it does me no harm.
I might make an exception for a wasp, though.
Even wasps are escorted out of my house rather than killed, JBR! Mind you - having seen the damage one did to Ulli’s eye I may have to revise that rule.
In honesty I don’t believe I would have, I would let the authorities sort him out…I would probably have dialled 999…
I don’t take the law into my own hands.
Have you ever eaten pate de foi gras Tabby?
Bloody right l would want my food back if l had just bought it !!
Of course the gull had the doughnut in its beak! Because a gull has
Webbed feet and. can’t grip !!
Why he had to eat food in the vicinity of gulls?
I don’t know! but thousands of other people do the same every day !
Ask them why they do it!
There was no flagrant cruelty displayed, he merely held the gull by
it’s neck and legs,(how else would you hold a bird?) removed his
doughnut and released the gull which appeared to be alive as it
was not floppy at all and seemed fly off ?
However the incident may well have been staged, as having a
video camera on site seems a bit coincidental as another poster
has allready pointed out ??
BTW, No mention of a dead gull found in the vicinity was there ??
Donkeyman!
No -I would not touch such filthy - cruelly produced - stuff!

I would not want to eat food that had been in someone else’s mouth or beak! Would have let the bird have it’s stolen treat.

They know the risk and should accept the consequences of their actions. No use blaming the birds.

That would not surprise me - some people would do anything to grab attention - and it would only reinforce my low opinion of the man - and his accomplice.
BTW, No mention of a dead gull found in the vicinity was there ??
No mention of the stress caused to the Gull either - but it would have been stressed by the incident.
I can’t believe the number of posts in favour of the seagull on here! As someone who lives by the sea - they are a flipping nuisance!! Their numbers are increasing and they need to be culled. They’re responsible for erosion causing landfalls from cliffs because they try to burrow into the cliffs to make nests. The local council here net the cliffs to protect them from the gulls, so they fly inland and nest of chimney tops from where they dive-bomb home owners, passers by, and pet cats and dogs and they frequently kill small garden birds!
Presumably, the incident took place at a seaside location, which attracts many tourists who are largely ignorant about the many nasty habits of seagulls. The man in question was probably either an innocent tourist who sat down to eat his lunch before being attacked; or a local who is fed up with being targeted by the wretched seagulls and decided to fight back! If more people did this, maybe the wretched birds would learn to stay away!! Or better still, we should be feeding them the pill to reduce their numbers…
A great many folk want to live with nature, not subdue it in order to make it live with us.
I am one such person, I am not alone in this.

I’m surprised you care! But I think you’d find that it wouldn’t be “living with nature”, as nature would win!
I don’t doubt large numbers of these birds can be a nuisance at times Lindy, but I still say that bloke didn’t have to treat the bird the way he did.
I don’t believe for one minute he was unaware of the gulls, so he was asking for trouble standing there eating in front of them.
He could have easily laughed it off and put it down to experience. His behaviour was unecessarily callous considering it was only a flippin’ doughnut, hardly a valuable item!
Man horrified after seagull rips food out of his mouth as he takes a bite
Matthew was enjoying a wrap from KFC when he was rudely interrupted by a savagely hungry seagull, who swooped down and ripped the food out his mouth
From the Daily Mirror
