Why the Monarchy Should Have Died With the Queen

In my day if you turned up for a job as an ex university student that would have been almost qualification enough to bag that job Pixie. But now it’s the norm to have gone to university. We have devalued it’s value, and we are left with the large amount of practical inclined people who have lost at least six years training on their preferred job. Plus, they would have been paying tax and contributing to the national purse.

I did see those who turned out with placards that said Wales doesn’t need a Prince !
I ask you Weendey what does the Prince of wales do for wales .
Take your time

I don’t resent young people at all muddy, I resent what the system has done to them.

Jobs that formally did not require a university qualification now do .
Ie nurses and paramedics

They can’t pay tax if they can’t get a job .
They can’t get a job if they can’t get onto a training programme l
They can’t get onto a training programme unless they have the necessary academic qualifications.

Yes a very small minority of people did protest. And if you read the article I posted you’ll see what they do. They bring publicity to charities, you need to watch local news all over the country not just the national news as I’ve already stated and when do you ever see this:

The link just went to random pictures
How about this one

Publicity to charities ?
What’s that supposed to mean ?
Do you really think people give to charities just because the Prince of Wales gives it a bit of ‘publicity ?’
Why people think that the Royal Family have this huge influence over people I can’t think ?
I ( and most people ) donate to charities that they are interested in for one reason or another they don’t need publicity from a member of the Royal Family .
Unless of course you are a mega donar and want to buy a knighthood .

People spend money on the lottery and send money to far off lands through charities and are never sure that the money will get to it’s intended cause, most people will never win ‘The big one’ on the lottery, but you resent a few bob out of your pension for the upkeep of probably the most well known symbol of freedom and civilisation the world has ever seen. We are very lucky to have a royal family. And consider this…The forces swear allegiance to the King, so if anyone decides that the royal family are surplus to requirement, they had better be able to stand up to the army, navy, airforce, police, and me.

Do you ask before giving to any charities find out how much in percentage terms go in admin costs. Most tin rattlers don’t have a clue

And that’s why I said I resent what we as a nation, are doing to our young people, we are making them into the people that they will turn out to be.

Yes I most certainly do .
If I buy a lottery ticket there is a slight - but still it’s there - chance I might win the millions .
Supporting a bunch of over prievileged obscenely weathly people gives me nothing .
I give to charities that I KNOW are reputable and do good because I have seen it in action .
I will list them if you like you can look them up .

And that in itself is why we should get rid of the monarchy. Anyone who can sit back and watch people die in their name, is not fit to serve the people. The forces should fight for the country who raised them and educated them, not some bejewelled, unelected person with a dodgy crown on their head.

Dream on Muddy, you’ve more chance getting struck by lightning, or being knighted!

I am not a tin rattler thank you
I donate by direct debit to reputable charities that I know do good .
Some have administration costs most depend on volunteers.
I know these charities do good because I have seen them in action .

I think they did Pixie, for the freedoms that the Royal family stand for, but mainly for their families and the future of their kids.

As I am not a dodgy multi millionaire who gives buckshee donations to our new kings ‘ charities ‘ you are right I am unlikely to get a knighthood

What freedoms are they then ?
Freedom from paying inheritance tax for kings ?
Freedom to travel around on environmentally damaging cars and boats and planes - ( kings only )
Exactly what freedoms are the Royal Family giving to the children of the U.K. ?
Fancy rhetoric doesn’t cut it Foxy give us facts .

Muddy
your getting over excited on who has posted what on here, think of you blood pressure . Calm down dear calm down. Best not to make claims you have not substantiated by facts and figures. for example on admin fees charities take that includes advertising etc

Yes the link went to random pictures, pictures that are seen on a regular basis at football matches, I asked do you ever see scenes like that because of the royals.

You’re talking about national charities, the royals bring publicity to local charities.

Don’t be patronising RS .
I am passionate about some things and a bit of passion is good .
Don’t want to drown in fluffy platitudes and sycophantic witterings.
Obviously some not all charities advertise .
So what ?
They have to get the message out I would rather pay advertising that reaches many people that pay for a minor royal and all his family for their lifetimes to visit a small group of people and make nice inane remark to children ( as how cute ,how kind , yuk !)
Anyway charities reach more people by social media on the internet these days which doesn’t cost vast amounts
There are plenty of small charities that don’t advertise but you can go and see them .
I support a local collie rescue ( from whence came the lovely mungo ) it’s been going 20+ years and is supported entirely by volunteers and donations )
Ditto all the charities I support excepting the NSPCA and possibly the Salvation Army .
I am sure you can find some dirt on those but still they do good .
What GOOD practical tangible good to the royal family do for charity ?

No I. am not talking about national charities at all.
I don’t need the royals to bring my attention to local charities .
Nor do I need your advice on watching local news you appear to think that everyone ( except enlightened persons ) only watch the BBC .
Are you implying they scour the country looking for local charities to give publicity !
Why not just send a donation ?
