I’ve switched from Netflix to My4 as not only do they have the whole of “The Great”, they also have season 7 of Young Sheldon.
I found it difficult to get into Emily in Paris a couple of years ago, but watched it recently and really enjoyed it. I think it’s probably more a ladies show, particularly the fabulous fashions and the delectable Gabriel. Looking forward to the next part in Sept.
Quite enjoyed this limited series. The best bit though is the formation dance. Great bit of choreography. I was wondering about the Isabelle Adjani casting so looked up her age - wow!
I recently watched “The Perfect Couple”, not bad, I actually expected it to be a little weird, judging by Nicole Kidman’s recent strange roles. “Nine Perfect Strangers” is another one she starred in, if you enjoy series with unusual/unexpected turning points. I started watching “Expats” but then left it, I may go back to it if there’s nothing else to watch.
I apologise if I’m confusing Netflix series with Prime, I never remember where I’ve seen them .
When I finished watching “The Rookie” series it left a big hole which I have not yet filled.
I am watching “Outlander” but the best I can say is that it is OK. I tried it years ago but only managed to watch series 1,To be honest the best I can do is an episode a week.
Tried a series called “Northern Rescue”, again it doesn’t grab me
At the moment my 20 minute time filler is “Big Bang Theory” which I find strangely enjoyable.
Watched “Where the Crawdads Sing” for the second time, such a good film. I would have never guessed the star was a British actress. Also an excellent book if you are looking for something to read.
Big bang theory and the spin off Young Sheldon are both gems.
Since the Perfect Couple, I haven’t been able to find a next watch yet on Netflix.
So I’ve moved to our terrestrial freeview streaming services. I’m watching a BBC iplayer suspense series called “Apples never fall” with Annette Bening and Sam Neill. It might have been of interest to you for location reasons - it’s set in Florida, but was filmed around the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. I checked the location because I was wondering which part of the US looked so beautiful. It’s a shame it’s a limited series. Quite often these types of shows eventually end up on Netflix so you may get to watch. There’s also a book.
I’ve also been watching the next two seasons of “The Great” which is a bawdy satire loosely based on the rise of Catherine the Great. It stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy), who is now terribly grown up at age 34. I remember he was very good in Skins too back in the day. I am pretty sure the first season of this was available on Netflix. I was delighted to find more on Channel 4 streaming. The language is frequently blue and some of the humour is very dark.
This as well, not bad, not to everyone’s taste I’m sure. Italian six-part series, subtitles not done well. Wealthy woman with toy boy and family aren’t pleased.
Lincoln Lawyer next season is now available. Quite action packed from the start. Very enjoyable series.
I’m not sure whether anyone has watched “A man called Otto” yet, but it’s fabulous. Love Tom Hanks in anything. The subject matter is sensitively handled. Very thought-provoking.
Aha! It seems that it has only made it’s way to Netflix UK this week. Although sometimes they remove things and add them a year later pretending they are new!
This latest Lincoln Lawyer season is really good. I almost cried when watching one episode. I’ve not read the novels but might give Michael Connelly another look in. The beautiful California hill views of LA from his house are also a nice detour between the action.
