Just after lunch, I had a somewhat bemused conversation with the lift engineer about the failure of one of the LED lights in our brand new trio+ lift … oh it cant have failed already sir as LEDs last almost forever. What? I am telling tell you one of the two has failed already and needs replacing PDQ. Well sir, we could have someone out next Monday or Tuesday if that’s convenient. No it’s ruddy well not! Your company was quick enough to submit the invoice balance, so if they want the remaining 90% then someone needs to select forward drive and be here first thing tomorrow, cos I’m not paying the balance until I’m 100% satisfied; you should read your own prompt after sales service statement and remember it was only fully tested, commissioned and signed off last Friday Someone will ring me back before 7 this evening.
…12 hrs later…
It’s been a slack day .
I decided not to go to town…instead I washed dog .
That’s it for today
Found a poorly hedgehog on the drive a couple of weeks ago so took it to ‘Pricklington Palace’ a hedgehog sanctuary in Howden 30 miles away. We found out that what we thought was a he, turns out to be a she, and had ringworm and Lungworm. After a course of antibiotics she has made a good recovery, so after a fortnight in hedgehog hospital we collected her to be returned to ‘her patch’…Have to wait until dark before releasing her…
We went to ASDA for some essential supplies first thing before it got too hot for comfort… some vanilla essence for home baked wild blackberry muffins being pretty essential in my book.
Next stop, a stroll around the mill pond to feed the birds…it all kicked off, became quite competitive, a swan grabbed a poor mallard by the neck and gave it a shaking. I thought it’s neck might get broken, fortunately not!
Winding up with a a glass of red listening to some memory jogging indie/punk on Stereo Underground courtesy of BBC Radio Sussex
Just walked the dog.Not that I had to do much. She zoomed around the park jumping up in the air trying to catch bats.At least I think that’s what she was doing.
Mungo and I went for a 7k.walk it was hot so he wore his chiller jacket .
We had a very good day today. We were just about to stroll with the dog when we heard a car stopping at our gate. It was our friends from our where we lived a few years ago. Husband wife, three children, and an old neighbour. Well we all walked the wee dog and chatted with the neighbours. That was quite a stroll then we came beck in for a good long chat. Then Mr husband took us for a super lunch, back home and some nice conversation. Such a lovely surprise!
Got stalked by some crazy Egyptian geese and goslings.
They know a bag of Wilko bird mix when they see it.
I bribed them off the footbridge and back to the pond where they belong!
Yesterday, I was photographer at a wedding. Was up at 6:00 and didn’t get home until 02:00 today. Had a lay in, downed a bucket of coffee and made a start in processing over a thousand images - which is going to take me ages to do.
Had a very frustrating day. I have a couple of Dune Delux RV Shade Tents that I use to fit on the rear of my camper and/or the side of my car. The second one I actually bought last year when it was on special but haven’t used it so I thought I had better test it out in the garden.
Thank goodness I did, the tent was supplied with the wrong poles, two were correct but four of the same sort were supplied also a ring and pin is missing from one corner of the tent. Got onto their call centre and hope that this will be rectified.
So annoying but glad that I checked.
I was in the garden most of the day…it was too hot for serious gardening but I pottered :
mrs d00d is pottering about in the garden right now … not 6am yet.
can’t beat a good potter
Something very important earlier this morning. I looked through all of the e-mailed photos my grandson Gary sent to me concerning powered platform-lift van conversions. I am going to buy a good used one so that I can take my wife in her powered chair out without having to arrange to hire one with driver.
There are several of interest, so I’ll take Gary’s advice as he is in the trade and would buy it for me at a good trade price, then collect it for me. I’m drawn to his recommendation of a high-top Renault Traffic as I was told they are the easiest to maintain and give the best MPG. When I asked Mrs LD, she said a red one please, so not much help there
Spend a lovely sunny arvo helping my son attach an ensuite to his car. It turned out OK.
(The blue tarpaulin was to stop it getting wet - naturally he had to wash his car too)
He also wanted to try out his new two minute tent (personally I think it is too small for him, girlfriend and dog.)
yes looks too intents to get a good nights sleep in Not even big enough to have friends in for a mass debate on camping
well i think its plenty big enough, we had a Dome tent for our first and we had a double blow up matteress, and me , hubby and young son slept in it .
Ive been a walk today , but it was exhausting , the muggy weather just drained me .just had a thunder storm ,hope thats it for the night .
Personally I think it is wise t get a tent for one more person than intended ie for couple get a three man tent. To be fair this tent does have a sort of alcove at the front which would accommodate one’s luggage or boots etc (you can’t see it in the photo because he didn’t put the tent up fully, he just wanted to check it was all there)
He had/s a couple of Malamoo instant tents of mine too, unfortunately the 3 man broke and they are irreparable but the two man is still going - they literally take three seconds to erect - I think he intends to take that as well.
I still have a couple of tents in my shed - an ancient one man cycling/hiking tent and a four man tent which I offered him but he thought it too big.
