What have you done today?

Watched Glamorgan seconds beat Cardiff UCCE firsts by six wickets in a T20 match
:cricket_bat_and_ball:

Pressure washed the patio. Put our four bins for the bin men. And not a lot else.

Been to the pool, did the shopping, walked the dog, faffed about in the greenhouse. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hows the leg Rox, are you able to exercise now?

I am back at the pool now, but only 3 times a week not 5 as I was before. I swim one length and walk back the other way, it certainly has helped. Legs not sore anymore but my balance is really bad and I have to use a walking stick. :slightly_frowning_face:
Very tired for some reason and sleeping more, Doc says I will get over this as my body and mind recover, I just wish it would hurry up a bit.

That’s good news Rox, but you must be a patient patient and let your body do it’s stuff. I wonder if the balance thing is because your muscles have not regained their strength and your brain doesn’t trust them to take all of your weight yet, so it distributes the weight over other muscles and makes you wobbly. The pool work will soon have you running marathons…

We have a big wedding in our family in a few weeks time, so today was trawling through every dress, shoe and handbag shop in a fifty mile radius for my ‘good lady’, knowing this gig was going to happen over a year ago - and only now decide to shop for it. Thus I have been going through my CD collection on my phone whilst waiting for my brain cells to die a slow death as I’m dragged from one shop to the next.

got up

Not a lot…

Doing some post-processing on a studio shoot I did last weekend and preparing for a wedding shoot for next week.

Have arrived back in the land of love on Friday I mowed the grass for the last time until Spring, watered my pot plants before they karked it, washed all my dirty clothes, watched the last episode of Queen Charlotte and dug out an old back pack and bum bag for my next overseas trip if there is one.

Had a new walk with the new dog.

Started Sunday morning off with a 23 mile bike ride. Went out early (7:00am) to avoid the traffic, but I didn’t avoid the works traffic lights that they’ve set up on the main junction in and out of the village. God only knows why they are digging up the road this time…But it’s a bigger pain in the arse than this new saddle I’ve just purchased.

I decided to wait for the red light to change as there were a few irate motorists queueing up, I thought it might push them over the edge to see a cyclist ride past them and through a red light…
As I was leaving the village an old bloke on a ‘Sit up and Beg’ bike pulled out of a sidestreet about 2 hundred yards in front of me. I guessed he was going to the allotment just up the road and I’ll make short work of passing him.

The next time I looked he was half a mile up the road and the gap was widening by the minute.
He was soon out of sight…So much for the ‘old bloke’ theory… :open_mouth:
It happened again about half way round. On a very long and straight section a rider passed me in a flash…All I saw was legs, white socks and pink lycra, as they disappeared up the road…Twice on one ride… What’s going on…? The worst was still to come.

As I meadered round some very quiet and scenic country roads a rider approached me in the opposite direction. I immediately recognised the legs, white socks and pink lycra of the rider that passed me earlier at supersonic pace, and to my surprise it was an oldish woman!
We exchanged the time of day in the briefest of liaisons as she sped off on her way…
:biking_woman:

Anyway, in spite of being burned twice in one day I really enjoyed the ride, but they had better watch out the next time we meet…I’ve included some tacks in my saddle bag…Only joking!

Took my car out for a run after it had sat idle for three weeks while I was away - made sure I ran the A/C too.

Gave myself another Covid test before I visit friends tomorrow, still negative.

Got the high pressure washer out and cleaned the under side of my mower because it won’t be used again until spring and I am fed up with the chassis rusting through before the motor is worn out.

Apart from that not much happened today

Just an interesting observation…
Just lately we have had lots of friends and neighbours going down with what seems like a virus. They have been very poorly, but all covid tests have come back negative… :017:
Very strange.

Went to a Airshow, what’s not to like.

Went to the Car Boot Sale in the Village and bought fresh home grown strawberries to have with my Yogurt later.

Hi

A mutual deal.

One of my helpers needs work doing to their house.

Cheapest they have been quoted was £2400, cash in advance, plus the VAT.

The person who quoted them is not even registered for VAT, a right rip off merchant.

I have arranged for it all to be done, by people I know and who do work for me, for 100 hours of her work for me, spread over a year, 2 hours a week extra.

The people doing the jobs are happy, I pay for the materials up front, immediare cash when they have done the job properly, I am very flexible as to when she needs put in the extra hours.

The Black Economy at it’s best.

A small victory for the ordinary people against the likes of Boris.
