What have you done today?

I’m seriously envious!
I’ll always go for the sun deck on the sea cat conditions allowing.
Don’t those hovercraft look a bit knackered and jaded by today’s standards, still great fun all the same!

FWIW I have flown in helicopters a few times. This for electrical projects for North Sea oil. Also got some trips on a light aircraft from Elstree Aerodrome which was about five miles from my house… Part of the job I did.

I’ve never been in a helicopter alas! I bet it’d be quite an exciting experience.
I took a skydiving course at Headcorn Aerodrome quite a few years ago, wouldn’t even consider it now even if I was allowed.

Different for sure. A few things were different places for me. Some mundane and some were different. Like the Sahara Desert.

I love it when it is like that!

I was thinking of the water pressure. My parent’s home had a water tank in the roof a hose in the garden just dribbled (what is it - 2.3ft per psi?). When my old man first visited Australia I think his greatest pleasure was hosing down the concrete and paths - in those days the water pressure was far higher than now but had to be reduced because it blew apart the hoses and fittings when the Millennium drought made us use fittings with an on/off switch.

However I can see the disadvantage of having to replace the hot water system though my hot tank has a pressure reducing valve to protect it.

I went for a hike for a few hours - to test out my new windproof jacket …and to get away from all the hysteria

I usually only go hiking when it’s at least 20 degrees, but this year I dropped that to 18 - however on the way back it can get quite chilly because of the mountain breeze (and time of day) so I needed a thin jacket just to protect me from the wind and one that was small enough to carry/fit in a pouch.

I got it on offer and it works well!

Knackered how dare you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The hovers aren’t that old 5 or 6 years .

Ah!
I stand corrected, they’ve obviously been replaced since our last hover trip.

I have been looking for a holiday over Christmas because all my kids are going elsewhere this year and now want to have the family Christmas the week before.

The only choice seems to be a cruise and I am not keen on cruising even worse all the suites are sold out with only inside cabins available. The only other option is to fly to Asia or do some bush camping (I am getting a bit old for that)

Ho hum!

Defrosted the freezer in the shed, time for a brew and a egg banjo

Hi

Wendy is late arriving, so I have had a bath, washed my hair, washed up and cleaned the kitchen.

Made chicken curry with Tescos breasts, curry paste from Chinatown, onion, red bell pepper, cocoanut milk, chickpeas … Will have some tonight, and possibly four portions for the freezer.

Sounds like a classic case of having a dog and barking yourself.

My old man used to love an egg banjo. The only problem was that he also liked them on long car trips. When we drove from Folkestone to Cheltenham he would be up making his fried egg sandwich at some ungodly hour, wrapping it in greaseproof paper then, many hours later he would eat this disgusting ,greasy, cold thing by the river at Pangbourne (this was in the days before motorways)

Went an cleaned the next door neighbour roof gutters with my Skyvac. Did it 2 years ago for him and now he is not in the best of health at the age of 78 . If one can’t help a neighbour if possible it is not very nice

RS, can I ask what a Skyvac is and how you use it? A friend of mine wants to do her own gutters and doesn’t want to get anyone to do it for her, because she was told that professionals put grass seed back in the guttering to ensure they get called back out again! :joy: Not sure if thats true or not, but if she can do it herself, she will.

Been for lunch out and nice walk with a friend I have not seen for a while due to care/health issues in her family and then her mom’s recent death nice to reconnect, should have been going to a “fun/cashless” casino night tonight with friends in aid of the scouts but it has been cancelled ud to the Queens passing so home watching 4 in abed and chilling.
