What have you done today?

You may well say that Assman, I couldn’t possibly comment.

@Bruce Of course !! :frowning::frowning:

Went into the loft for a different matter , came across a leak from the cold water tank which has compromised the chipboard its sat on, major leak averted methinks, so off to a builders merchant to get something suitable for replacement.

Wouldn’t you be better off going for a mains pressure system and getting rid of the tank in the roof?

Hi

Been to the cashpoint and shopped at Morrisons.

I was taken by someone from a local voluntary group, out for an hour and shattered when I got back.

You just make a donation of £5, well worth it.

Today we went to the vet’s office. It is about an hour round trip. The visit was for Max to have his blood drawn. It was the third time for this. The first time they left the blood too long and the second time they mislaid the sample. This time they got it right. It is for Max’s calcium level - it is perfect and that rather pleased us.

Tesco this AM, dentist this PM.

Managed to get the roots of the bush l cut back competely out of the ground !!
But had to destroy the rockery wall to do it, knackered now!

My daughter utilised that special “father-daughter” relationship to persuade me to go and finish off the prep work at her friend’s house ready for painting.

Sanded walls as best I could, showed the friend how to spray sugar soap and wipe down walls and woodwork. Watched her do this, then let her go back to whatever she was doing (which seemed to include lying on a settee with a blanket over her while she texted her boyfriend), and proceeded to clean the walls and ceiling properly. Caulked up as best as I could.

I’ve made it clear that I’m not going to paint the room (not well enough and not fit enough), and was told that someone else will do this. However, this person can’t be nailed down to anything specific, and will probably turn up at random at 10pm one evening to do the work. So I expect I’ll have to return to do some remedial work during daylight hours.

One of those days I should have stayed in bed. My temper is almost ready to boil over, some people just live to wind others up. Pick Pick Pick.

It would be off topic here.

Anyway, today I’ve done far to much.

Goodness Rox … sounds like you need a hug. :hugs: ( and a good stiff drink, or two)

It would mean a new boiler, far cheaper for a new tank, its been up there for 35 yrs, the chipboard gave way it looks like and a small crack has opened up in the tank, plumbers will look at it next week . In the mean time I’ve bent the ball cock to only fill the tank to half full and put some plumbers mate on it, seems to work. Its a fifty gallon tank and a smaller one at say 25gallons will suffice.

Had a good day out in Scarborough. Sorted out some business at the hotel for October and found a nice cafe’ for lunch, Jacket potato with Walnut and feta cheese, unlikely combination but better than the usual cheese and beans. Took a drive along the marine drive and into the North Bay…The sea was wild and crashing over the wall. Spent half an hour sat in the motor watching folk getting soaked… :009:
