I have had the Community Physiotherapist here, having had 4 falls since being discharged on Friday.
She rang first thing and was here before 12.
You could tell she was a physio without being told, very slender and moved like a gazelle.
She was very good, wanted my full medical history, asked a few questions and then off we went.
Four sitting exercises and two lying down exercises.
Easy as chips for a hard nut like me.
Perhaps not, hard to do and she stayed here for the 20 minutes it took before my legs really started to hurt.
Right , we can start now, first things first, you are not invincible, secondly you need to realise that you are not only ill, but that you cannot do what you could before.
Last but not least you are going to be able to do far more than you can now.
All you need to do is do as you are told, not as what you want.
A very clever lady indeed, glad I have her looking after me.
1 kg + a bit minced beef
5 med/small onions
5 med/large toms
5 cloves garlic
chilli fakes, paprika, bay, salt black pepper, olive oil, 1 oxo, oregano, erm
I unscrewed and moved a huge table into the garage from the kitchen and moved a small table into the kitchen in preparation for the arrival of the puppy on Sunday.
I need lots of room with 2 dogs and their beds .
The YMCA are going to collect the table I can’t be bothered selling it privately let someone have the pleasure of a bargain.
Not sure it has done much for my spinal issues but heyho, if I want to do something I will.
Made 3 jars of spiced pickled cabbage for the children.
… love russian salad, that’s what my mother called it. Now we have Ms d00d’s portuguese salad and/or some not-so-bad potted offerings from the local Polish deli.
300 g cheese - grated mozzarella, and cheddar or farmers cheese
Fresh herbs (parsley, dill, etc.), finely chopped – if liked.
Salt to your taste
Instructions
Combine kefir with water in a deep bowl. Both ingredients should be at room temperature. Add salt and baking soda. Whisk everything together until combined. When baking soda starts reacting, the mixture should become fluffy.
Sieve flour and add it to the main mixture a little at a time.
Knead the dough. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel (tea towel) and set it aside.
Boil cubed potato in salted water until fully cooked through and mash it into one smooth texture without any lumps.
Grate cheese; add it to the mash together with chopped fresh herbs . Season to taste
Divide the dough into 6 x small balls . Divide filling into the same amount. Sprinkle some flour on your working surface. Take a ball of dough and roll it into a flat circle. Place the filling in the middle.
Fold the ends of the dough to the middle to seal and put dough onto floured work surface seam side down. Roll out the ball with the filling into 5 mm thick flatbread. Be very careful not to roll too thin or the filling will escape.
Warm skillet on medium heat – do not add oil… Place a flatbread in the skillet and cover it with a lid.
Wait until the flatbread dough rises and only then you can turn it to the other side.
Cook on medium heat until both sides are golden and crispy. Transfer fried flatbread to the plate and smear with butter. Repeat for each flatbread. Enjoy!
While perusing the forum this morning I was made aware of a ‘Shushing’ sound coming from the bathroom which was currently vacant…Upon closer investigation I was dismayed (pi$$ed off) to find a waterfall emanating from under the sink…Water was already making it’s way into the hall and beyond…A flexible braided supply pipe had failed suddenly. Spent the rest of the day clearing up and replacing the mixer taps. Heaven knows how bad it could have been if we had been out for the day…
I’ve had doubts about the longevity of modern plumbing fittings for a while. Speedfit, Hep2o and other related plastic pushfit stuff are a main concern, and a lot of modern buildings and refurbs will have had this stuff installed due to ease and speed.
Absolutely Dex. The metal braiding was rusty and disintegrating. The sink had a sort of plinth fitted underneath to cover up the gubbins so it was impossible to see the deterioration. I would have thought the braiding should have been made from stainless at least. It’s made me consider turning off the water when leaving the house for any length of time. It was the hot supply and the combi boiler was on. Imagine how bad that could have been.
You are correct about the quality and efficiency of modern plumbing fittings, I have two flexi push fit connectors in the loft which will soon be replaced with proper copper soldered joints, can’t take the risk of further failures.
I know what you mean foxy. My pessimistic suspicion is that eventually house insurance will increase to cover the cost of damage due to failed fittings.
Given the fact that supplying power to all these new electrical appliances such as cars will need a lot of copper cabling, and copper is an increasingly dear and rare resource anyway, it’s unlikely that a return to copper pipe in house plumbing will return.
Anyway, perhaps a conversation for another day, eh? Derailing the thread methinks. Although if you need to borrow my blowtorch and other plumbing tools, let me know. I fancy a day out in Yorkshire.
Today we went to the vet’s surgery to a prescription for Max. It is about an hour for the trip. Then my wife needed to send a written letter to pharmacy where we get the Max med. Off I went to the mail box with hound in tow. Then my sister arrived. She is up from London for a week or so. Another trip for me to get some some beverages for her. I got my walking in today!
