What have you done today?

Replaced a length of damaged trellis. That should support the Wisteria next year.

Nothing - yet - but the day is young and I am feeling adventurous!

Heyā€¦I like that post!

Walked the hounds at 6.30am as usual. Met Red, the red setter on the way out and on the way back we met Dolly & Grace, two JR puppies. A lovely way to kick start my day.

Spent $123 filling the car to drive to Canberra $2 (Ā£1) a litre for diesel! bloody outrageous. Amazing how fuel prices rise like a rocket and fall like a feather. Still plenty of traffic on the road though!

Donā€™t drive angry Bruce. Calm down and drive safe.

Iā€™m never angry even if I am outraged. I think I have been angry about four times in my life. I am even a happy drunk.

Researched fruit flies and how to get rid of the little buggers.
Never had this problem before.
Apple cyder vinegar is the answer apparentlyā€¦

Just back from my hound walking around the common. Glad to be back today it was quite chilly. Soon to be 28c again though.

Just been doing changeover in cottage we let for holidays. People leaving left a note to say it would have been 100% but for the ā€œpoor mattress and thin pillows.ā€ The ā€œpoor mattressā€ is a pristine Silent Night mattress and we have never had a single complaint before. It has a mattress protector and is spotless. One visitor said she had the best sleep ever and didnā€™t want to get up as the bed was so comfy. No way could anybody describe it as poor. it is immaculate and very good quality. The ā€œthinā€ pillows are just a few months old, immaculate with pillow protectors. Again, nobody has ever complained before and often we find 2 pillows on the chair so they must be too THICK for some people.

My husband says ā€œdonā€™t let it get to you. Some people complain about anything.ā€ He is probably right.

You can please some of the people some of the time
But you canā€™t please all of the people all of the time.

So very true Iā€™m sorry to say.

Iā€™ve not long finished an eight hour shift in my new part time job.

Iā€™ve never waited on tables before, I was dead worried about spilling the soup all over somebody.
Iā€™m relieved to say that didnā€™t happen, probably because there wasnā€™t any soup on the menu today, maybe next time.

On a slightly more serious note just for a change, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, working with a nice team and really quite looking forward to the next eight hours:-)

Well done, Chilli, and glad you enjoyed your shift.
I think it helps enormously if you get along with your work mates, too. :+1:

This morning I wasted so much time.
I drove to 5 different places to get some plant support rings and some rubber cane toppers - and still came home empty handed.
No wonder people order off Amazon instead of trudging round the shops for nothing.

Now my hosepipeā€™s sprung a leak! Grrr . . .

I wish mine leaked !
Then I could dodge the hosepipe ban and collect buckets of water from the leak with an easy conscience!!

We havenā€™t got a hosepipe ban here - yet.
I was using it to fill my watering cans up to cart round to the front garden, but suddenly I felt one trouser leg was wet. It was the hosepipe - honest!

@Percy_Vere - Just set up my new printer - and am seriously impressed. Only took about 10mins following instructions on a CD. Never had such an easy installation - and the quality of photo printing is excellent.

Hi

I have watered the polytunnel and the entire back garden.

It doesnā€™t sound much, but it is a major advance for me.

I will be going out later to water the hanging baskets and unplanted plants at the front.
