I love your window herbs! I’m trying to add to my collection too. I only recently learned that basil needs to be separated when you buy it from the shops to replant. Too bad I found it out later. Its growing well though.

Hi
Apart from going shopping and recovering from all the walking, I have been nipping in and out to the front garden cutting down things ready for replanting.

It is solid clay, covered with gravel, it will take some time.

Thank you - I use a lot in cooking. The pots with hearts on were Willow’s food bowls but I am sure she would not mind me putting them to good use!

Put washing in. Stripped bed ready for second load.
Vacuumed downstairs.
Vacuumed summerhouse and dusted everything as OH has been repairing roof and made a mess.
Made bed.
Had quick lunch.
Settled down to watch Commonwealth Games and thrilled to see one of my clan win a Silver medal.
Fetched all the washing in.
Cooked evening meal.
Had coffee in the summerhouse.
Done!

Busy girl!

Hi

Nothing as exciting for me.

Not the best of nights, up, taken meds, somewhat drowsy, but will be on form later.

Been for a swim .
Now for the coffee and cake :yum:

Took some cuttings of the lavender, tweaked the settings on my new hearing aids, and had a pipeful of tobacco with the new corncob pipe …busy busy

You must be exhausted Vlad, I think you should go and have a lie down.

It’s been hell Mups, so I have adopted feet up position and watching the Ladies cricket team playing South Africa on the tv :grinning:

Good lad.
Try not to get too excited, and I’ll make you a cuppa in a mo.

p.s. 'Ere, just out of interest oh wise one, do you cover your lavender cuttings or not?

Thanks for the tea…any chocolate digestives? Yep clear plastic bag over the cuttings, then I cut a corner off the bag after 4 weeks ish…buggers take ages to root but I am playing for next year

Ah, ta muchly. You have won the master gardener award for August.

I took about 10 cuttings, but didn’t cover them, so every one snuffed it.
Will try again.

Ahh, sorry to hear that, you were using a gritty compost? And rooting powder?

Yes. Gritty compost and rootng power. Then put them in my zip-up poly house, but without an additonal cover as I thought they might cook in the heat we’ve had.
Perhaps the plants are just too dry to produce good cuttings at the mo - dunno.

We’ll get told off in a mo for not putting this in the gardening thread.
I’ll just go and find you some chocolate digestives as your reward. :grinning:

:grinning: back on topic…

Been bit sleepy as had poor nights sleep worrying about our horse. We thought she was dying last night and expected to find her dead this morning but she has perked up a little bit.

Went to Tesco and bought more Petunias - a whole tray of 20 reduced to 88p from £3.50. All they need is a good drink of water. i love bringing them back to life.
