What have you done today?

Got back home yesterday after a few restful days in Dorset only to find I had left my laptop and ipad down there. Decided to drive back down this morning leaving home at 4am. 300 mile round trip. Note to self. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE ACCOMODATION FULLY BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!!

That’s a bummer EZ

Went out on the bike at six thirty and didn’t see a car all the way round a 15 mile route on very quiet country roads. Made good time on the outward journey (wind behind) but found the gusty wind awkward and hard work on the return journey
(headwind)
So only 10mph average. Although bike computer is crap and innacurate, I’m sure it was faster
 :sunglasses:
Can’t seem to get my bum off this chair now and shut down the laptop
But dinner is cooking, and I need a shower

Apart from sitting in front of my PC and going through 100’s of photos I have taken, all waiting to be processed, sorted and filed, its sit in front of the telly or take a wander and see some local wildlife near a pool, or to a local coffee shop for a drink and a muffin.

I have just retired and had to give back my company car and now reliant on the wife for transport until my new car (a present to myself) turns up next week.

My youngest drove down to visit me today and I was hoping he would help me to construct a new sofa I had bought. A three seater Vinliden from Ikea.

I had a meeting first thing in the morning after he arrived but when I returned discovered the old sofa already in the car port and the new sofa constructed with him just finishing off and putting the cushion covers on. I was very pleased.

Unfortunately when I tried to book a free council clear up visit to remove the old one I discovered the earliest available booking is on 22nd July! I might break it up and take it to the dump myself (not free)

It is getting close to lunch time so I might treat him to lunch at the club for all his good works.

Have you checked the bin for screws?

Built 3 drawers for our new kitchen cupboard.

My youngest Ben at the moment is under contrat with the NHS until end of sept this year, however he was ask to attend an interview for same job elsewhere more or less as he is a fully qualified psychologist .A lot more money (five figure) I won’t say the exact amount as that is private, but large enough to cover mortgage and living expenses on top of what he already earns. AND HE GOT THE JOB starts end sept.

Fell out of bed.

Weekly shop and coffee at Costa.

Tidied up the garage.
Did biannual stock take on freezer.
Made one cauliflower cheese to give to poorly neighbour - made two for me with added brocolli and garlic. Tomorrow and Fridays lunches taken care of!
Made a cauldron of Leek and Potato soup - threw in the leaves and stalks from the cauliflower and brocolli as well - yummy.
Had Tempura prawns and stir fry for dinner.
Now cuddling Nemo, drinking hot water with lemon in, and ogling Martin Shaw in ‘Ladder of Swords’ ! Bliss

Hung about waiting for a builder to call this morning.
Returned some plants to the shop I bought them from.
Had a jacket potato for lunch.
Saw to my poorly dog.
Watered garden tubs.
Prepared this evening’s dinner.
Went to a meeting this evening.

Four mile walk this morning on my way to the chemist to pick up my prescription
I took the scenic route. Supervised my daughter, son in law and Mrs Fox clean out the garage
I hope this wind drops for my early bike ride in the morning

Be careful how he eyes you up RS. :icon_wink:

Got a flat tyre on the Van, won’t go into detail.

Not a lot today. The dog walk was just Max - Ozzie’s mum is still in hospital. She will then be transferred to recovery. We’ll see. I know she misses her wee dog.

always pays to keep at least a space saver spare , got Sue out of trouble before when she hit a pothole

Goin to buy a wheel and tyre for the Van, and throw it in the back.

Managed to bike round my 15 mile route in 1 hour 14 minutes, was a time when that would have been under one hour
:frowning: Weather was good though, and I didn’t notice the breeze much except on a couple of open stretches. It’s not going to be much fun on Sunday doing that route because they are going to tar and spread pebbles over the surface (surface dressing I believe they call it) for quite a few miles. It will take a while for all the gravel to bed in. After my shower I will catch up on two recordings of the Tour-de-France. Maybe next year

Sorry to hear about your flat tyre Spitty

Got up had a shave and a coffee, the most exciting thing(yawn) was taking a photo of Sue) and me for the boarding passes for the ship. Did a bit of photo size and megabit alteration to meet their requirement whch they accepted. Then off to do the daily walk and just got back feeling ikt was a lot easier this time ,maybe because it is a bikt cooloer outside.
Now soon face feeding time

Had an eye test .
Need new readers.
Poor Mr M needs a cataract referral .
Edited
The eye test was at Vision Express in Tescos .
Crossing the car park we were nearly run over by a giant SUV . Mr M is usually mild but turned with intent to give the driver a piece of his mind . It was a little old lady who looked about ninety the gentleman in him let her off and we watched as she bumbled around the car park clearly looking for three spaces to park her monster vehicle .
She was probably going in for her eye test .
