What have you done today?

Be wary Flowerpower. There are lots of Ukrainian flavoured scams at the moment.

I thought it took weeks and weeks to get UC ?
Itā€™s only May now .

No, they get it immediately.

Thanks but she was really nice. I got my cash out and put it away, then she gave me her card to put in machine and she asked me to check her balance and it was something like Ā£334.18. She said she wanted to take it all out and I said the machine couldnā€™t do that so she took out Ā£330.

I think she was more in danger of me scamming her actually!:rofl:

Iā€™ve had a very full day on what is my last day of my week holiday from work.

First my husband took me birthday present shopping at my favourite place on earthā€¦HOBBYCRAFT. He let me loose told me to buy whatever I wanted and I loved every minute. I spent Ā£50! That will keep me very happily busy.

We then looked round Home Bargains, its a massive one at Leeds and they have some really nice stuff in there. I bought a ā€˜bee your own kind of beautifulā€™ with bees on it, itā€™s really lovely. I bought it for my dear friend who was hospitalised on Monday with pneumonia. Turns out she also has pleurisy.

Tonight I was going to drive to the hospital to see my friend but for some reason I got all nervy and lost my nerve to drive there on the dual carriageway so was gonna go on the free bus. John told me donā€™t be daft, he took me instead. I have no idea why I lost my nerve, Iā€™ve been to that hospital many, many times and driven there and back? Oh well, I got to see my dear golden friend. She looks and is very poorly, I wanted to cry and I could tell she wanted to cry too but we both held back.

They were going to discharge her today!!! She is in no way fit to come home and she told them she felt too ill to go home so the doctor agreed for her to stay. I think they plan on sending her home on Monday. Iā€™ll be going down to help take care of her.

Tonight my Son brought me a beautiful birthday card and I could feel myself welling up reading the verse which he had carefully chosen for the words, he said ā€˜mum I read the verseā€™ bless him.

so thatā€™s what Iā€™ve done today. I didnā€™t get to see Dad today but phoned him, he understood how busy Iā€™ve been, I always feel guilty when I donā€™t see him :frowning: Heā€™s fine so I need to stop worrying!

I am recovering from overindulging at the buffet meal with my middle son, family and friends at the Burns Club last night. Noticed that I am having a lot of trouble hearing kids in a noisy setting, I think their voices are more high frequencies tha adults and that is where my hearing loss is at its worse

Took the dog out for a walk this morning for an hour without getting lost and which both of us enjoyed .

Must have rained heavily overnight because the ground was very wet this morning but I guess the clouds stopped it getting so cold as the previous night.

Watched another episode of Orange is the New Black on Netflix after a lunch of Char Koay Teow leftovers - am going to a BBQ this evening so donā€™t want to eat too much.

Quite a stroll today. I went around the primary school but that wasnā€™t enough for Max so we did the main school next. On my way back home I met my wife coming to meet me. Trouble I thought but not so. She had called the pharmacy and they had the meds I needed so off we went in the opposite direction, quite a stroll. Two and a half hours in total.

Been to my exercises, then had lunch out on the way home.
Put some chicken in the oven, and some beef in the slow cooker, and now Iā€™m going to cut the grass. :slightly_smiling_face:

Cleaned out holiday cottage ready for next people. Had bacon and onion roll for lunch. We have a rack FULL of old coats in the garage which were used for dog walking (we are now dogless) and jobs down the horse field. There were also some riding coats belonging to daughter and husband. We went through the whole lot and took half to the textile bank.

Now enjoying the late afternoon sun in the summerhouse and it is lovely.

Mungo and I went for a rather gruelling walk in the mountains . Fabulous views .

Walk in the park and lunch. Back home, watched Netflix in bed. Cooked supper: warmed up something from the freezer.

Following my walk this morning I hung a gate onto the new wall. The builder has still got one or two jobs still to do on the wall, and hanging the gates was one of them, but I reckon that brickies are rubbish at hanging gates so I did it myself. I couldnā€™t do them both because I need some timber from B&Q to do the other one. Iā€™ll do it on Monday.

Havenā€™t yet but, by the end of the day, will have attended Elton Johnā€™s Farewell concert in our Arena together with 40,000 others.
