What have you done in the garden today?

Nuffing. Decided to drive 150 miles instead.

Moved some plants around they weren’t growing where they were.
Got bitten by the chiggers

Repotted some basil, and geraniums.

Discovered I have an Elderberry bush in my garden, so keeping a close eye on it for the makings of something nice!

Well, not really in the garden - I mowed the councils grass outside my block and also took some cuttings from my big geranium to plant so there is less council grass to mow.

Did you dip the cuttings in honey? I’ve read that doing that is a good idea…

No, Geraniums grow like a weed, They will take by themselves. I will probably take some more of the foliage off to stop them losing too much moisture

I have some hormone powder somewhere but can’t remember the last time I used it

Oh thats good to know - I have a few pots that I’d like to expand for Spring/Summer but wasn’t sure (given our weather and upcoming winter) whether to do it now or wait until late feb/early march

Look stunning Eliza! What size was it when you bought it? (Assuming it grows fairly quickly?)

Walking the dogs this morning we found someone had dumped garden waste and out of it we got three red coloured grasses and some mystery bulbs, we came home and popped them into containers. Freebies cant beat that lol

@PixieKnuckles yes it was in a 2lt pot when arrived , grown very big quick , ive trimmed it twice from advice that with the quick growth the branches become not able to take any windy condition ,its worked well .

Oh that sounds like a plan for the coming weeks, Logan. There’s a sale on them (and tubs) down in town so I might go and stock up (although some veggies might be better  )But it will be nice to have some Spring flowers to look forward too along the side of the path :+1:

Hi

Personally I have done nothing these last 3 days other than walk round garden centres etc and pay for things.

My two helpers have transformed the Conservatory. moved plants in from the garden and a load of rooted cuttings out to the garden, the kitchen windowsill is now full of herbs, the front garden is looking lovely and a load of bulbs planted.

It has cheered me up no end.

It’s good growing veg but some colour is needed in spring. In the back garden i grow fruit and all i can see is green for most of the year.

Patching up the lawn that the badgers have been tearing up looking for earthworms.

Yesterday I prepared an area ready for some daffodil bulbs and tidied up the Montbretia.
