What book are you reading now?

I don’t like it and so I dumped it. Am now reading “HMS Ulysses”.

My next read is The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez

Finding Rick Wakeman’s two memoirs hilarious at the moment:

Clan of the cave bear inspired by a recent thread about it thought I’d read it again, as good as the first time I’m finding.

An excellent book Julie .

I’ve just ordered ‘Suicide of a Superpower’ by Pat Buchanan. All the way from the US of A for just £5.86 all in (used) - 50 bucks brand new  .

The same fate awaits us …

One for Realist here - was it orchestrated?

Sounds like my apocolyptic collection great for a good story but not to be taken seriously

Apparently this book - and others by Pat Buchanan - deal with all the social, religious, economic troubles we are facing today. In the video I found (whilst looking for something else) I was taken aback by how knowledgeable he is. By the looks of it many of the answers I was looking for could well be found by reading his books. Also ties in neatly with other videos and info I have come across as to why the West is in such a mess at this point in time.

When I asked the question to Realist as to whether or not the way the West is now was orchestrated I was serious as it does look like it was.

It is amazing what can be found by searching through the YouTube archives.

He was an isolationist way back in the seventies, I think he looks like everyone else for things that support his way of thinking. I’m not saying he is wrong just needs to be taken very carefully or you could fall into his isolationist ideals which aren’t really good for anyone or any country.

A very good book you may enjoy is HTML for beginners available in all good bookshops

Perfect People by Peter James.

Haven’t you written one yourself?

I think you have to give me more credence that that - gullibility is something I tend not to be guilty of. Also this book was written in 2011 so covers how things are now. The reviews are exceptionally good too. At just under 6 squid delivered it sounds like a damn good buy.

Yes I have

Where is it then? Lets have a look at it.

I do give you more credence the you was more general sorry.

Just borrowed “No Need for Geniuses” by Steve Jones from the local library, it has a sub heading “Revolutionary Science in the Age of the Guillotine”.

This book deals with the astonishing advances made by French scientists of the late 18th century around the time of the French Revolution. The subjects range from the isolation of chemical elements to the understanding of human metabolism to the physics of electricity. The era’s remarkable technical innovations included the metric system, ballooning, the invention of canned food, and the semaphore telegraph. Each chapter seems to be about one subject but he then wanders off to deal with its implications and how the science was developed.

I am only about a quarter way through the book but it is a fascinating read. Well worth reading.

Steve Jones is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Senior Research Fellow at University College. He delivered the Reith lectures in 1991 entitled “The Language of the Genes”, that was where I first heard of him (via the podcast) and have bought several of his books on genetics since, he writes in a very entertaining way and manages to keep your interest when dealing with quite complex subjects.

To do so would give away my true identity and I don’t wish to do that on the forum.

If you’re so protective of your identity(nothing wrong with that) wouldn’t it have been better using a pen name?

I think I know your book…is it comedy?
