Just finished The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. A strange little story but with hidden meaning. Pity Kafka never finished his books though.
I finished reading ‘Me before you’ by Jojo Moyles last night.
I was so near the end I couldn’t go to sleep until I finished it. It took me till 1.30am and I went to sleep with tears pouring down my cheeks.
This book is exquisitely written -heart breaking… I still feel sad this morning.
It has to go in my top 10 all time favourites favourites list
Started Love You Dead by Peter James on Sunday. Got about a third of the book left.
I love these books Silbee up to book 4 at the moment. Don’t read them as quick as reading other books in between.
I am nearing the end of The Little Shop of Happy Ever After by Jenny Colgan. I will definitely hold on to this one to read again.
The Hope Family Calendar, by Mike Gayle.
One of his best, I’d say.
Just finished ‘The Little Princess’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I really love these kind of books. A bloody good happy ending makes it all worth while.
It’s always a good idea to read the end first
Grrr
I’m reading “Crystal Gardens” by Amanda Quick ( Jayne Krentz) absolute rubbish! I thought it was a Victorian murder mystery but it meandered into farcical psychic fantasy with pornographic interludes!
Nearly finished it…
Brilliant story though my favourite is The Trial
Just started ‘Want you Dead’ by Peter James.
I finished his next one Love You Dead, last week.
Tandia by Bryce Courtney
Sequel to the wonderful book The Power of One
Into the dark by Brian Spangler interesting post apocolyptic tale, no zombies which is always popular with me. The obsession with them puzzles me greatly.
Haven’t read much by him except the Tassie Trilogy which I enjoyed very much.
The Potato Factory
Tommo and Hawk
Sololom’s Song
Criticised for being anti semitic but a very enjoyable tale if you like Bryce Courtney.
BTW He was the creator of Louie the Fly and the Milky Bar kid when he worked in advertising.
I am listening to an audio book titled “The Fireman.” It is a distopian novel where a virus is causing people to spontaneously combust. It is total fantasy and way too long.
Are you going to burn it afterwards ;).
No. I will probably delete it. It is total fantasy like an early Stephen King novel that I enjoyed before I grew up.
MKJ, some fell on stony ground!
Just started reading a Val McDermid book. “Cleanskin.” Too soon to tell if I like it or not.
