Yes - your generation and my generation for sleep-walking into and allowing over-reach of govts and big business. While we can debate why it happened (some of which you already covered) ultimately, we are the ones that essentially stood by and let them become more draconian, powerful, and authoritarian.

Things can be done about it (rem the French Revolution) but I agree, they keep learning and keep wearing us (the people) down. I have faith in us (the 99%) tho… we just need to come together and wise up to these politicians and other enablers (like the media) trying to divide us via culture wars etc. The moment people realise it’s a class-war, they’re finished.
