As if we would Hazel darlin’
We had roast chicken, but I should have eaten the grandchildren instead, followed by my husband and daughter for dessert. Sunday lunch has been getting more and more out of hand each week and today at the table was so bad that I took myself off upstairs in a huff. I vow no more Sunday lunches at our house for a while - I think. They can get their own.
Aw Rena
I know that feeling. I should have been doing a family lunch today but was saved by a bad leg ![]()
I didn’t feel like spending days shopping and cooking only to have a lot of my food thrown on the floor by the three babies performing ‘Baby lead weaning’ then two hours of clearing up and washing chairs and floor.
So I had grilled organic Welsh lamb chops with rosemary and garlic from the garden and some steamed vegetables all on my own ![]()
Only a temporary reprieve though, I am cooking lunch a week on Sunday.
We have been out for most of the day, so our evening meal was a cobbled together affair of, chicken breast, stuffed with spicy cous cous, stuffed mushrooms and salad. Followed by strawberries and ice cream.
Have removed chicken breast from freezer and its defrosting nicely. As the weather is still inclement, will make a creamy, cocoanut curry later today.
homemade fish pie today smells lovely just got to put topping on any ideas on what to add to topping to make a bit different.
Only thing I can think of Hazel darlin’ is Tartar sauce.
I like grated cheese on mine, grilled until bubbling and brown then a sprinkling of chopped parsley ![]()
I usually put grated cheese on mine as well…
Me too.
This evenings meal was, braised lambs liver and onions with potatoes, cauli and green beams.
I love lambs liver but unfortunately one of the things not allowed it often:-( but enjoy it when I do:-D
Going to make a ‘special’ Shepherd’s pie later today.
what’s special about it, red wine or port. BTW my fish pie was yummy unfortunately I missread tarter sauce as tomato sauce and not content with that added cheese as well, it was different but very nice, will have that again.
Out for Lunch today, think it will be Hot Soup and Crusty Rolls.
Roxy darlin’ hot soup and crusty bread is ok as a first course, but what about the main meal??? steak and chips perhaps???
UJ
I fear one day you might go pop  ![]()
