What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

No at Lunch Time Geoff, Soup and Bread just hit the spot fine. Followed by a nice big Latte of course

Coffee yes, but I drink mine black AND with a tot of Brandy to sweeten it.

Meg darlin’ going off ‘pop’ - what a way to go!!! full of food. Seriously Meg darlin’ my waist band expands to encompass a decent sized meal. F’r instance I made a shepherds pie today with added Port to enrich the gravy. I have eaten half of it and will finish it tomorrow.

Uncle Joe, I would love to come on here one day and read that you have eaten a healthy meal for a change ;-)

Mags darlin’ - shepherds pie IS healthy. It contains garlic - which purifies the blood, lots of frozen vegetables (part of my five-a-day), Beef mince which is full of nutrients, mashed potato which is also full of anti-oxidents and finally cheese which is full of calcium to strengthen my bones - now what can be more healthy than all that???

UJ  yes certainly the way to go for a gourmet
I am sure your waistband expands to ‘cuddly’

Well I can’t argue with that UJ

Do you have any left over for tomorrow?

Yes Mags darlin’ - half of pyrex dish in which it was cooked - will have the other half tomorrow.

UJ yes certainly the way to go for a gourmet
I am sure your waistband expands to ‘cuddly’

Meg darlin’ - am way past ‘cuddly’ - similar size to Fred Emney - remember him???

Oh yes UJ  he was cuddly, I bet he enjoyed his food too

Chilli and cheese toasties

 I’m smiling at some of the above posts.

At work (lunch-time = 1.30 p.m.) I have a Cuppa Soup or perhaps half a sandwich (my first food of the day).

For tonight’s tea (dinner - depending on where you live) I had a Wienerschnitzel and did my home-made mushroom sauce. Had my appetite (and eating solids) been up to scratch, I would have had par-boiled pieces of potato finished off fried in butter and no, I’m not losing weight, I’ve gained half a stone! Am eating less, and gaining a few pounds! Woo-hoo!

Trouble is, because I have to eat a lot more slowly at the moment, me tea goes cold before I can eat it all! Ah well!

Evening meal was a roast chicken salad with a garlic and herb dressing followed by fresh fruit set in strawberry jelly with creme fraiche.

Fish 'n chips again today - luverly!!!

thats on our menu today but not until this evening

Kitty darlin’ I eat my main meal at lunchtime. This evening I have some finger rolls, a couple of frankfurters and an onion and will be making and eating hot dogs.

we are used to our main meal between 6pm and 8pm, I’ve got used to that over the years, on the odd occasion we have been invited out for a meal with friends who eat at lunch time i for one cannot manage to eat it, only my OH can do that

i will be having a bowl of soup and a roll about 1pm before tackling the weekend shopping.

Kitty darlin’ many years ago when I was working in London and commuting, I was eating two full cooked meals every day. Was going to pub at lunch-time and eating a full pub lunch and when I arrived home in the evening, Dragon had a full meal waiting for me too (which is why I am the size I am and like my food so much). If I wanted to, I could eat a full cooked meal in the evening too.

Chinese chicken liver curry and rice

Hazel darlin’ - if you haven’t already done so, when you boil the rice, add 1/2 tsp turmeric to the water to turn the rice ‘yellow’.

going down town tonight so must be lots to choose from

Little strips of steak marinated in grated ginger/garlic/chillies/oil/soy sauce served with stir fried vegetables, noodles and a bunch of watercress which tastes wonderful when sprinkled with soy sauce.

A dish of apricots and almonds .
