What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

home made chicken and leek pie with chips and peas today

with cream slices for desert

Scraping my face and putting my shoes on now Kitty darlin’ - should be with you around 13.00.:lol::lol:

well as we are eating at about 6 ish this evening i will have a couple of bacon buttys waiting for you to fill a gap until dinner

Homemade Celery & GreenPepper soup for lunch with a couple of slices of Bread & Butter. Homemade Beef curry & rice tonight - Give hubby something to do while I take Taffy out for his walk

Lunch… scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms and chopped parsley…

Dinner… grilled lamb chops with garlic and rosemary/roast potatoes/peas/ cabbage and mint sauce.

Stewed Goosberries on their own.

Too late Kitty darlin’ - couldn’t wait that long - have bangers and mash on the stove as I write this.

Now come on, nobody HAS to eat if they don’t want to. I know I couldn’t and nobody could force feed me.

Well, for the first time in ages I made a cottage pie for tea and enjoyed a third of it, to be going on with! Mindst, it was a reasonable sized one.

I do agree with boiling rice with a touch of turmeric though. I do that regularly and it tastes gorgeous! Of course, it has to be Basmati rice.

Lunch just a couple of slices of toast and marmalade.

Dinner at about 6 ish which will be

tomato soup, followed by cold meats, ham, turkey and roast beef, with a side salad and crusty bread and sausage rolls.

desert, raspberry cheesecake with a portion of fresh raspberries and double cream.

and a nice bottle of sparking wine to wash it down

Goodness Kitty, that is a banquet.

We went out for an early breakfast, so I didn’t want dinner until about 2pm. We had turkey breast stir fry, with noodles in black bean sauce. Hubby wanted some ice cream after, so we had a cornetto each. Still full up, so I’ll skip tea and have a couple of biscuits with my bedtime drink ;-).

it was very nice but i couldn’t manage it all, made sure i had a couple of glasses of wine though :-).

Oh Kitty darlin’!!! - what you had is just my ‘strarters’, forget the salad though - that’s just rabbit food). Had full Sunday roast yesterday and will be doing a chinese chicken stir-fry for lunch today.

Wow, being from the U.S. I don’t recognize some of the foods; others I recognize but they’re taboo in this house since hubby had his heart attack.

I like the sound of rice with tumeric on it - I will have to try that:)

Breakfast for me is always a bagel with butter AND peanut butter - lol

Lunch will be fresh stir-fried string beans, mushrooms, onions over rice.

I generally don’t eat supper this time of year as the horses don’t come in until around 7:30 PM. I can’t eat a big meal then go do chores without getting sick. I will generally put myself to sleep with a small container of yogurt while watching the 10:00 news.

Winter time they come in two hours earlier, so they get put up for the night, then we eat.

Julie darlin’ - I have a much better night-cap than Yoghurt - Brandy!!! - although I like mine as a ‘pick-me-up’ first thing in the morning - circa 06.00.

I used to do that until my inherited high blood pressure finally caught up to me - lol

In my adult youth, I always carried a flask of blackberry brandy on the fall trail rides. We did a lot of weekenders with the horses up in the mountains. Never knew when it was going to rain (a heavy mist would also work:) and a snort of brandy would warm you right up out on the trail:-D

I’ve sort of gotten used to the taste of yogurt - sort of–

Chicken, noodles and veg stir fry today.
(the lady next door told me she is having beef curry, with sponge cake for afters :-D)
She has her eye on my gooseberries  but it will be gooseberry pie for us tomorrow
Yoghurt is for breakfast in our house, with fresh fruit… tomorrow morning the fruit will be banana.

Chicken with lemon & black olives. Followed by the lovely banana-loaf recipe provided by uncle joe.
I must admit this is the one & only recipe I can not live without.
The banana-loaf with raspberries & cream!!!

Banana loaf gets made today and fed with a drop of brandy (ready for guests Monday), dinner is fish (haddock), chips and mushy. peas.

Jean and I visited a local Indian Restaurant yesterday lunch time and we both ate a Dosa (like a large Spring Roll) 1’ long !!!

I bet poor Jean has to go on a Diet after each visit to you lol lol.

I went to Aldi on Thursday evening and was delighted to see packets of Souvlaki mix so I bought three packets.

On Saturday I marinaded some of this onto pieces of diced steak, grilled it and it was absolutely deeeelish!
