What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Looks good Denis:cool: Glad you enjoyed.

Looking very tasty, Nero.

Tonight is spaghetti and Italian meatballs, tossed salad and the usual ciabatta roll.

Be careful tossing the salad DM, . . . you might get some on the ceiling.

We have spaggetty bols tonight too.
And i made a double helping of basic meat sauce, so the second half will become chilli *con carne, to be frozen for another day

Shouldn’t really be ‘con’, as I use Quorn for this dish. Can’t see the point in a beef beast dying when the Quorn gives equally good results

Any recipe can be modified, you don’t need to copy it verbatim, experiment by using what you fancy.

Chicken Casserole & Mash YUM!

I’m having a chili bowl with grated montery jack cheese on top with a salad.

I always do a new recipe by the book the first time; then change or moderate it to my taste. Cook’s privilege!

Fish supper methinks, . . I just can’t be bothered cooking tonight.

Tonight I had home-made cottage pie with lots of veg.-really enjoyed it

My supper, Chicken Tikka Masala with Nan bread, made by Asda themselves.

Before I was on this thread it never occurred to me to take the camera to the kitchen and take a pic of dinner! But you make yours look so appetizing you’ve gotten me doing it too! Spaghetti and meat balls…

A picture says a thousand words DM, . . (who said that) . . your meal looks delicious BTW.

All the meals look very appetising.

The Chicken Tikka is a good value meal, less than £4 for the Tikka and 30 pence for the Nan, it’s very filling indeed.

Got the price wrong, the tikka is only £2.99.

Thanks, Nero, it was delicious. This is a bad thread to read just before lunch… making me hungry!

Well, I’ve just had two more of those stuffed peppers, . . this time I added the juice of a lemon to counteract the sweetness of the peppers, . . very nice they were too.

I’ve got a piece of brisket of beef sitting marinading in a pint of ale. I’ll put it in a low oven in a couple of hours, with whole carrots, potatoes, onions, big pieces of swede, celery and leek, the beer marinade and just let it do its own thing for about 3 hours. Then just add a mix of tomato paste,Worcestershire sauce and a little dark sugar to the liquid before serving. Yummy. Tomorrow I’ll slice the meat and have it with roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds and there will probably still be enough to freeze a single person portion to take over to my mum and maybe still some left for a sandwich or cold cuts with pickles. A good vaue and easy-care food.

You’ve got me slobbering DM, . . sounds really good.

That does sound good DM, I’ll make a note of that recipe.
