What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

If I can find the original (on a leaflet from the butcher) I’ll post it. You know how once you’re happy with the basics of a recipe you just do your own thing and don’t refer back …

Will look forward to that although the way you’ve adapted it sounds mouthwatering…

Heres the original recipe - Looks like I only kept the brisket and the beer!
I did do the mustardy cheesy ‘croutons’ when I followed the recipe and they were really nice with it.

The website has some very appetising suggestions

Thanks DM, I’ve bookmarked it

There are some great recipes on there especially for the cold and miserable days of winter.

Just made 3 gallons of leek and potato soup an hour ago, . . let it sit for a while then plunged the ladle in, . . zowie, it’s great, . . first time I’ve made this type of soup.

Sounds good! Cooler weather does call for hearty dishes like soups and stews.

Tonight I’ve had spicy chicken, baby new potatoes with carrots, garden peas and sliced green beans-enjoyed it.

I’ll be having Chinese chicken shiu mai dumplings, small bowl of miso soup and sweet corn. No vegetable really goes with Chinese, but I like corn.

DM your recipe sounds wonderful, I will have to try it. I use a slow cooker for something like that and leave it on low all day.

Tonight broiled crab cake, fresh peas, curried potatoes and the usual roll.

I’ll pass tonight, . . I can’t taste or smell a damned thing anyways, . . . have a nice meal the rest of youse whatever you’re having.

No cook Monday: usual sandwich, veggies, etc. Sorry your cold is so bad, Nero …some chicken soup??

Stir fry for us tonght - vaguely Thai themed

Jacket Pot

This week I got the most beautiful greens, avacado, mushrooms, tomatoes and I will add nuts and I will cheat and have a creamy sweet and sour dressing. I will warm up and add a little bbq chicken to it.

Two rolls on flat sausage, . . I can’t face anything else. :frowning:

Linguine with pesto, salad and ciabatta roll.

Dinner tonight will be baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes with cream gravy and corn with green beans.

Tonight I didn’t cook at all…but my friend made minced beef, carrots, peas, onions in a sauce all done in her slow cooker and she very kindly made up a plate of it for me with mashed potatoes. What a kind friend I have…wonder what she’s making tomorrow…

Always pizza on Wednesdays!
