What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Mrs PM is cooking lunch today. She is making one of her favourites, grilled salmon served on quinoa with red peppers, green beans and mushrooms. Low calorie, high protein and quite delicious…

nice healthy dinner this evening salmon salad with a small bowl of new potatoes

Fried chicken, the house smells delicious

i love the smell of chicken

Chicken is indeed a lovely meat and there are so many ways of cooking it. Today we shall have pork which again is giving the house a wonderous smell. I was quite taken aback the other day. We have cleaners come in on Mondays, they are more like friend really. Last Monday they came in and sniffed and said that our house always smells so good. I don’t know if that is good or bad.

i think it must be a compliment cate  pork smells really good to.

we are having beef today with the usual trimmings for a mid week treat

Had to go out this morning and at lunchtime the smell from the fish and chip shop we were passing, drew us in…:-)I bought a wally too
Can’t remember the last time we bought fish and chips, I’m very full now :frowning:

What do they say? a little bit of what you fancy does you good.

Does anyone cook with a Halogen Oven?

Went for a Hill Hoof with my Friend and Boy did we climb, felt like the Wolf in Sword in the Stone.

wheeze* wheeze whee- HYUCK?! wheeze Pwuwuwuwuwuuwwuuw… thud

We went in for a Pub Lunch afterwards where I fell head first into a Big Latte and a Ham and Pickle Sandwich.
Now I’m aching all over :frowning:

Bought a nice piece of beef this morning - having roast beef with all the trimmings for tomorrow’s Sunday roast.

hmmm this aint what i got tonight (well that is chilli and beer) but the other night i was walking round Sainsburys and saw some pork bellies with sea salt and sage on the reduced shelf …£1.99 each wow that was gorgeous…nice and cheap and was delicious …will have to look for that again…

Ukmartian how did you cook your pork bellies? I am wondering if they would do well in my slow cooker.

we roasted them in the oven 1 1/2 hr at 170c fan oven

My appetite has not been too good lately, so I will just be having a chicken and stuffing roll.

Thanks out to Asda on Monday to do a belly search.

Full Sunday roast today - beef and roast tatties with all the trimmings. The joint has been in my slow cooker since 07.30 this morning. Nearly two hours later and the smell is beginning to permeate my kitchen and filter into the lounge where I’m currently sitting. Lunch should be ready around 13.00

Will you leave the beef in until 13.00? I did some pork like that and I will never cook pork any other way again.

Roast chicken for us today cooked in my new Halogen Oven.

Cate darlin’ - yes its a fairly large joint and only just fitted inside my slow cooker. Will let it cook through slowly until the veg and tatties are cooked and then let it ‘rest’ for 15 mins before carving it.

We are having visitors this evening. On the menu will be, home made Cream of Butternut squash soup, roast chicken dinner followed by home made jam and fresh cream scones and for the ones that I know don’t like the jam and cream scones, the alternative will be fruit and cinnamon scones. And then if anyone is still peckish:-D a cheese board. I’m full to bursting just thinking about it:mrgreen:

You and I should eat together, I love the sound of your food.

Hope you enjoy your meal UJ. My new Halogen Oven is amazing, it says in the booklet that it cooks roast potatoes in less than 30% of time a normal oven takes but the tatoes come out crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

I cooked some chicken in mine yesterday and it was crispy outside and so juicy and succulent on the inside.
