Oooh, liver, onions, korma, mixed grill - my mouth is watering :-p We had grilled fish, salad and new potatoes…
all very healthy
but it has got to be bacon sarnies for tea with loads of ketchup
Salmon fillet and salad
not the sort of food for this cold weather:roll:
I mean no disrespect to anyone, but how can anybody eat three full meals a day, with desserts? That’s beyond my comprehension. I read here about full breakfasts, hearty lunches and evening meals. Where do you all put it?
There’s no way I could eat any kind of food when I get up. I have to be up and about for several hours before my stomach kicks in to want food.
I’m pushed to eat a butty at around 2.30 pm for my first eat of the day, then my tea at around 6.30 then perhaps a morsel of supper about 9.00 pm, then I’m done till around 2 pm the next day.
Today (Wednesday) I had half a boiled ham and mayo sandwich at work, then pie, peas and gravy at 6 pm, then I had half a tin of Oxtail soup at 8.30.
If you’ve read my previous posts, I regularly have a rice meal in the evenings, so the pie and peas was unusual for me, but it’s what I fancied for a change.
Everybody is different I suppose though, but I know I couldn’t manage three meals a day.
Mollie darlin’ - I tend to eat my breakfast (usually toast, butter and marmalade) around 6.30ish in the morning. Occasionally I will go for a full breakfast down the cafe at the bottom of the hill (when the buses are running - but that’s another story) around 9.30ish. My main meal is my lunch - approx 13.00 - 14.00. and ‘tea’ - a couple of rounds of sarnies at approx 18.00.
When I used to work in London and commute, I had breakfast on the train, a full lunch and a full dinner in the evening too. Have always had a 'healthy appetite and LOVE my food!!!
I know just what you’re saying Mollie I am exactly the same. Couldn’t stomach a thing to eat until after lunch time. I forced myself to have a bowl of porridge about 10 or 11am for a late breakfast and that made my appetite kick in a couple of hours later. So now I have that, a sandwich or banana in the afternoon and a little bit of whatever my husband is cooking for dinner in the evening but no meat, have gone right off that for some strange reason. Fruit on and off during the day. Then cereals and cake in bed! There is absolutely no way I could eat three large meals a day.
My SIL can easily eat three meals a day, he’s a very active person and plays a lot of sport … he has a healthy appetite!
Mags darlin’ - SIL - He??? - I think you mean BIL
No, Uncle Joe … my daughter’s husband! ;-)![]()
Oops - sorry Mags darlin’ - its all these initials - more than one meaning.
Remains of the pork joint I had last Sunday, chopped into chunks, placed in the wok, an onion, garlic, mixed peppers and mushrooms added and Iceland’s Oriental rice and veg mix. For liquid I’ve used a jar of Lime and cocoanut sauce.
Ham and eggs for me. Fried chicken for hubs. Cooking a chicken and vegetable soup in the slow cooker. It smell so delicous. I am going to try a shoulder of pork in it tomorrow
Cauliflower cheese, rump steak, mushrooms, onions and a fennel salad followed by a fresh fruit salad .
That sounds just scrumpcious!!!
I did a stuffed red pepper with minced beef, onions and mushrooms, with a compot of saffron rice and prawns, and a curry sauce. Most tastyful.
Steak Pudding, Chips, Fish and mushy peas.
On the same plate??? - Fish 'n chips with mushy peas yes, and steak pudding yes, but NOT on the same plate!!! -
Scuse me mushy peas is good with anyfink.
No Cate darlin’ - if it has to be peas with the steak pudding, then ‘proper’ peas with a decent gravy too, mushy peas I find do not exactly go with gravy as well rather they are better with vinegar over them.
Uncle Joe you is a food snob:lol:

Eat what you like, I say … we all have different tastes
