Tut, tut Steve matey - cook from scratch and you don’t need to rely on eating out of cans.
Lamb chops today with mash, and roasts Uncle Joe
green beans, cauli, peas and maybe a yorkshire pud or two
no after today unless i change my mind later
Kitty darlin’ - if wasn’t for the fact Surgeon has forbidden me to move following my surgery (the ball and chain come off after this weekend) I’d be coming to join you for dinner - it sounds wonderful.
Man from Sainsburys brought my shopping this morning including a nice Pork joint which I will have on Sunday.
well you would be more than welcome Uncle Joe
I got ‘bread and pullit’ for main course and ‘iffit pud’ for desert…That’s what my mum used to say when we asked “what’s for dinner”…where those sayings come from is anyone’s guess
Some miles South, South West of you matey - from East London.
THE VERNACULAR
The following are a few examples of Norfolk dialect in use, as well as the dry sense of humour:
“Whoa there, Wi’let, whoa, Gypsy, s’dockey time, here’s yar nosebags tergethar. Now then you fules, wait till I git yar bits out. Come on, Bob, let’s knock a blairze on an’ we’ll het. Thass suffun cold terdear, blowe’d if i’ tearnt. Le’s see what th’ old woaman ’a put up forrus in the dinner bag. Cor blast, bread an’ pullet an’ no thumbit. Thass a rummun thar-iss nowt on an’ nowt tut. I’ll hev suffun, gimme thar ole rat, he’ll do. Whass a marrer meart, carnt yer eat yars? Doant trow it awear bor, I can eart it, fat an’ all. Give us hold onnut if it’s gorn a meark yer sick. You young’uns er too finnicky nowadears.”
Dunno about iffet pudding but I would think that was an old Norfolk thing too.
iffit pudding…if i’ve got it you can have it
we are having a sunday dinner today roast beef mash roasts, assorted veg
and for pudding treacle sponge and cream
baked potato with melted cheese and chilli
I tried a new low cal recipe for chicken korma today for lunch, served with basmati rice it was fab…
KORMA!!! Get yerself a good Madras down ya instead of that horrible coconut milk stuff!
Tonight I had a brekkie for tea. Grilled bacon, sausage, tomato, hash browns, and fried mushrooms. Deeeelish!
Will be out for Lunch today…that’s either a bowl of soup or a Tuna Sandwich and a nice big Latte.
As I finally managed to get out yesterday, bought some 1/4lb burgers, have bacon, eggs, mushrooms, baked beans and (oven) chips so will have my version of a mixed grill!!!
Bought some liver from tesco was embarassed by the price of £1.35kg as everything else was so much dearer. I flash fried it and me and the dog had a lovely liver and bacon meal.
I love fried liver on a sandwich but haven’t had it for years, as Mrs PM prefers to casserole it with onions and bacon… ain’t life tough…
Salmon and roast veg for us for lunch today, followed by stewed fruit followed by a tiny bar of chocolate…
Home made beef soup for us today and I’m going to finish the liver up for my tea.
