Not eaten much at all, as per usual but I am ashamed to say that when we fed the ducks this afternoon I nicked some of their bread and stale biscuits.
Mary darlinâ - stale bread can make a fabulous bread pudding!!!
I knew it! I knew youâd come up with that as I typed it!

Oh without lol.
Well I gotta say that Chicken was mmmmmâŠinfact mmmmmmmm!!!Tell you UJ it was soooo good!!!![]()
Yes Bonny darlinâ - but it would taste even better with a few suet dumplings on the plate too!!!
That UJ I save for my Stews and love them!!
Tonightâs it going to be Pork done in a Pepper Sauce with tatties and lots of veg:-D
It will be chicken casserole for us this evening. I have been into Manchester with my friend for most of the day, so hubby has done all the preparation. I must go out more often:twisted:
bit of a strange meal tonight we had soup then beans on toast
For dinner I had a traditional norwegian dish of coalfish fillets. First I soak them in a whisked egg, then I cover them with bread crumbles mixed with salt & pepper & fry them in butter. To go with this loads of sliced onions fried in butter until brown, and raw grated carrots soaked in a mix of water, vinegar & a little sugar. This dish also should include boiled potatoes - but as I am on low carbâŠ
Anna darlinâ - that sounds delightful except the tatties - make chips instead!!!
Making a Chinese for tonight.Chow Min, Chop Suey, Chicken and Mushroom Curry and Sweet and Sour Prawn Balls. The Prawns should always be raw when put in the batter and the secret of the light batter which is yummy is using COLD fizzy water when you make the batter,
Bonny darlinâ - batter tastes even better if you make it with beer instead of fishy (vichy) water.
Got to agree with you on that UJ but being a clean living Cockney:cool: bottled Fizzy does it for meâŠcheaper also lol!!Hope your ok btw.![]()
Bonny darlinâ - whilst cooking my lunch yesterday (I have a large double handled frying pan/wok) whilst lifting it from cooker to draining board, it was heavier than my hip could comfortably cope with, so have managed to put back my recovery by several days and am once again taking a combination of Oromorph and Co-codomol.
Oh no UJ this is bad news! You need some lighter Pans babe thats for sure.BTWâŠI have a couple of Actifryerâs and one is great as it stirs the food while it cooks it.Also makes fab fatless home made chipsâŠwell you need half a teaspoon of oil.For stIr frys it is amazing as you just put whatever in it and it stirs it till its cooked and also even does roast tatties. The point im trying to make is you should not be trying to carry heavy saucepans about and I feel for the pain you must be going through.((((((((HUGS)))))))))
Bonny darlinâ - thank you. The pan, like all my saucepans (its part of a complete set which also contains a âsteamerâ are copper bottomed to retain the heat) - which makes them heavier than normal saucepans but which makes them harder wearing and therefore lasts longer - have had them more than five years now.
Now I have discovered my limit I will obviously need to be more careful in my kitchen for the next few weeks - was âpushing the envelopeâ further than my new hip would currently allow, but I will get there - just might take a week or two longer than I anticipated.
Hi Bonny some of your menus sound wonderful we do have a recipe section and would love to hear some of your ideas.
No prob sweetheart.Im off out soon but will go on that Thread ASP when I know I have time to give you a few ![]()
Ye wellâŠyou just be careful UJ as donât like to hear of your distress.![]()
