A dish of my own designing; sort of fusion cooking, combination of Japanese and German. Stir fried white parts of scallions, shiitake mushroooms, button mushrooms and shredded cabbage with crumbled crisp bacon served over rice,with soy and mirin. Sounds odd, but actually extremely tasty!
Sort of like stew beef, has to be quickly browned then simmered slowly for ages. I use stew beef in Hungarian gulyas.
A warming beef casserole with crusty bread…
Talking of crusty bread one day last week my son marinated chicken livers in Nandos sauce then just gently fried them they were soooooo delicious with crusty bread to mop up the gravy.
Sounds good! I Like chicken livers sauteed in butter with wild rice and mushrooms.
Deciding what’s for dinner: thinking Chinese: maybe large wonton soup and spring rolls with wasabi …??
I’ve just had a gammon steak with fried mushrooms and two halves of a tomato. I can’t honestly say I enjoyed it much though. 
Now, what else can I have.

Today Roast pork and all the trimmings.
Roast lamb, mint sauce, new potatoes, sprouts, broccoli and carrots…
Broiled trout, sweet corn, potatoes rissole, ciabatta, chocolate fudge cake
creamed potatoes, steak and kidney pudding and a large amount of gravy. hanging head in shame,.
Oh Cate darlin’ - don’t hang your head in shame - celebrate - it sounded fabulous - shame I didn’t know about your meal till it was too late. Have run my fridge and freezer down prior to my sojourn in hospital tomorrow so will have a ‘make do’ meal today - a (shop bought) Cornish Pasty, mash and veg.

For lunch today, left over kids’ sandwiches of tuna, cucumber also chocolate spread.
Monday is casual dinner: bacon, scrambled eggs, spinach, sauteed mushrooms, chocolate fudge cake.
Fish, chips and mushy peas from Greasy Lil’s down the road !
