What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Bangers & mash yesterday, fish 'n chips later today.

Chicken curry and rice for later…

Debating between soup and something simple like a bacon and cheese sandwich, cauliflower and fried potatoes …

Beef stew and dumplings for us tonight ,proper rib sticking stuff .

Tomorrows (or rather todays) lunch & dinner.
Lunch: Carrot-soup; 1 onion, 4 carrots, 1 stalk celeriac, oil, water, 1 cube veg stock, salt, pepper, cummin, coriander.
Fry vegs in oil, add water & condiments & boil until soft. Mix in a blender & add a little cream and the juice of 1/2 orange.
Dinner: 2 chicken fillets, fried in oil until taking on a little colour. Add 1 lemon (sliced), and black lemons (to taste) - chicken-stock-cube & oregano and cook for 20 min. Add parsil & butter and cook for 5 more minutes.

Anna what is black lemon?

We are having roast chicken, roast tatoes, roast pumpkin, mixed vegetables and maybe an aunt bessies yorkshire pudding.

Ham and cabbage, side of pickled beets.

Full Sunday roast, and for ‘pudding’ - Xmas pudding with Brandy Sauce - Delicious!!!

Eileen, I love pickled beets!

I dined with Mom at the nursing home tonight: roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy and broccoli for me, and she had the turkey schnitzel. Apple pie and coffee for dessert. The food there is quite good.

Do you make your own? I love them too!

So sorry - black olives!!!

A concoction of my own yesterday - fried onion, garlic and mushrooms in wok, added 1lb of diced chicken, mixed peppers, some veg from an Iceland stew pack and 1/2pt chicken stock. to thicken sauce I also added 1tbls plain flour. To ‘spice’ it I added some mixed herbs and mixed spice and let the whole lot simmer for about 45 mins. Was delicious!!!

Thank you anna please no need for apologies. Sounds interesting although I am not a great olive lover.

Sounds good, Uncle Joe, sort of dish I like.

I never acquired a taste for olives …

Tonight is linguini with pesto, tossed salad, ciabatta roll

Doctor and hubs have decided that the Atkins diet is better than being so overweight so after Christmas he is back to Atkins. We are now getting rid of all the stuff you can’t eat on the Atkins diet such as meat pies, pizza, chips and fish in batter or breadcrumbs. Made Penne pasta with a nice meat sauce last night no pasta allowed on the Atkins diet.

I could never live on the Atkins diet! Got to have my pasta …

Tonight will be pizza and salad

Last night I didn’t know what I fancied so, after some debate with myself, I decided to have a large Cornish pasty with a Batchelor’s Oxtail Cuppa Soup poured over the top and it was deeeelish!

Tonight I’m having Indian food. Prawn madras, chicken shashlick and pilau rice, saved in my freezer from Saturday.

Took a Bison steak out of my freezer last evening, when its fully thawed, will cut into bite sized pieces, flash fry with an onion, garlic and Mushrooms, and place in slow cooker for a few hours.

Does Bison need a lot of cooking or could you eat it flash fried? We ate pizza and chips last night for tea.

Cate darlin’ - no flashing frying seals in the goodness, but needs to be slowly cooked otherwise you’ll end up soling your shoes with it
