What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Roast chicken breast, new potatoes (OH only), sprouts, carrots and cauliflower and leek gratin.

That sounds nice Mags, I could just eat that (without the chicken). Uncle Joe might be pleased with me today. We had a family party here yesterday, so far I’ve had two big slices of coffee cake, two kids stawberry jellies with cream, six choc profiteroles and half a packet of cheese straws.

Hmmmmmmm - Nice lunch Maryl, darlin’ - what did you have for Dinner???

Had a friend visit me this morning - he wanted know how to make my bread pudding so had to give him a practical demonstration. Between us, we’ve managed to eat almost 2/3rds of it!!!

Cheeky monkey!!
I’ve got a bowl of your rabbit food in front of me now, picking over the last of the mixed salad.

Never mind the rabbit food Maryl, darlin’ - what about the rabbit itself??? - makes a delightful casserole!!!

Gammon steak with mushrooms, grilled tomato, fried egg, peas and new potato with a knob of butter

All I did was roast carrots, potatoes and red onions in the oven until soft then I put them in the blender with some stock made with a cube. (vegetable of course) and some lentils which I had simmered for about 20 minutes. It tended to get thick so I added some skimmed milk to reheat it. If you want it to have a little bite add some red chilli or anything you have handy really that is how I make soup everything but the dog, his bones and the kitchen sink.

Kitty darlin’ - set another place at your table - I’ll be on the next train to Victoria!!!

Capellini and Italian meat balls, salad, roll.

I keep yours on the hot plate Uncle Joe

Great, thanks Cate

Had to go to the Vampire (Warfarin) clinic this morning so on my way home again stopped off at a ‘greasy spoon’ cafe and had a full breakfast - Egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns and chips - and yes I cleaned the plate!!!

Wouldn’t have expected anything less Uncle Joe ;-)

Home made soup (the everything but the kitchen sink one), salad, ciabatta roll.

Eileen darlin’ - soup is alright as a starter, but you need something solid (and rabbit food with bread roll is not what I would call really solid) as a ‘main’ course.

Uncle Joe, this is a hearty soup! Ham, onions, celery, carrots, shredded cabbage, cauliflower, canellini beans, lentils, barley, sweet corn in chicken stock. Sticks to the ribs.

sounds like a fest of food and sounds good
just tunna salad for me with brown bread at lunch time

Yes Eileen darlin’ maybe so, but like all soups it fills you up for about 30 mins and thereafter one feels hungry again - need something more ‘solid’, like a ‘main’ course.

Uncle Joe will say that’s not enough! Sounds good to me, Pixie.
