Absolutely Pixie and Eileen, Tuna steak yes, steamed with boiled ‘buttered’ new potatoes, peas and sweetcorn rounded off with a sticky toffee pudding!!!
sounds so darn good
Chicken curry and rice with coriander and garlic naan bread.
Used up some cooked chicken and made coronation chicken with baked potatoes.
Simple enough to do Pixie darlin’.
We are having pumpkin soup as husband bought home a huge pumpkin last night so its now cooking with leeks and onions and carrots herbs and spices…I made some cupcakes earlyier so we have been eating those as we both lost weight this week so we are making up for it…I was going to make a pumpkin pie as well but our waistlines dont need that…so i will freeze half the pumpkin…
It will be a Cornish Pasty only for me … Saturday is my day for cutting down on food
Not something I know much about Mags darlin’
Chinese tonight: potstickers and spring rolls.
I think I would worry about you if it ever came to that, Uncle Joe!
But unwise when there’s the possibility of an imminent heart by-pass, or at the least a valve replacement.
I haven’t a clue what I’m having tonight as I haven’t de-frosted anything yet. I might have a steak with fried onions and mushrooms, with a sauce on top.
Mags darlin’ if I ever lose my appetite then you can be sure that I am seriously ill!!!
Monday is casual cook day: just bacon, scrambled eggs and buttery toast.
Eileen darlin’ that sounds good for breakfast but what about lunch and dinner???
There is a loaf of bread available over her called a tiger loaf, so every now and again we buy a tiger with some honey roast ham an unusual cheese, tomatoes and lettuce and sit around the table and make sandwiches it is fun and delicious.
Uncle Joe, lunch was miso soup (shiitake mushrooms, scallions, noodles) , fruit and cheese, chocolate health drink with vitamins and minerals (but tasty!). The eggs, etc, are dinner … it’s no cook night! It can be light or large depending on the number of rashers and eggs …
But, but, but where’s the sausages, mushrooms, hash browns, etc, etc Eileen darlin’, - if you’re going to have a fry up - then its not right unless you do properly and have it all!!!
:-):-)
Today I shall make French Onion soup with some of the tiger bread toasted with cheese. I am also making a parsnip and curry soup which may go off topic and end up containing, carrots, potatoes and onions
Cate darlin’ - Baxters do a truly beautiful ‘spicy parsnip’ soup!!!
Have a can of that, plus a can of their ‘French Onion’ soup as stand-bys in my cupboard.
I am sad to say that one of my joys is the kitchen. Years ago I made my living in the kitchen but now it is just a hobbie. At this time of year parsnips, carrots, onions, tatters etc. are really cheap and this poor old gal gets great pleasure in turning those veggies into soup of the day in fact I would say if you tried my soup you wouldn’t want to go back to Mr Baxter.
