Had a chicken stir fry last night was so good and filling.
Have taken gammon joint from freezer, when its defrosted, will smother it in honey and whole grain mustard and roast it.
Just had slice of quiche and tuna/mayo wholemeal sandwich for lunch …shall be having baked spud for later with salad and cheese
Currently (as I type this) I am having brunch.
Beans on toast.
Tesco’s super-seeded bread and I always pour off as much of the ‘juice’ as possible from the beans (not the toast)
Went out to vote and came back via the high street where I bought (reduced from £3.15 to £1.80) a ‘healthy living’ meal.
Salmon fillet, green beans, potatoes and broccoli in watercress sauce!
Sounded vile
Lol … chucked the sauce away and wonder WHY anybody would pay the correct price for such an assault on their taste buds.
Always good to try these things I’d not usually buy, just in case
Lunchtime was 3pm in a tearing hurry and running late…handful of dry roasted peanuts, four flatbread thins (sweet chilli) and a couple of baby bels to eat in the car
Hi
A surplus of ham hocks locally.
Down from 3 for £5 to 4.
One roasted, will do me for a day, bones and another one boiled will make me with lentils and beans, enough for three days.
I have had for tea today BLT from M&S, choc brownies and a toffee fudge yogurt for afters … yum yum.
A fish finger wholemeal sarnie with salad cream
Oooo … not had fish fingers for years … yummm
I remember decades ago being astounded when MIL, a very good cook, said she’d loved fish finger sandwiches !!!
And to make it even more extraordinary I think she had TOMATO SAUCE on them … euwwwwwww
Egg and chips
Ice cream for pud.
Quick and simple today I’m packing for weekend away, my husband ended up with five shirts no trousers last weekend so I’m doing it this week !
Enjoy your weekend away, Julie! And do pack wisely, take your time. I once went to Sharm el Sheikh having forgotten most of my tops! Had to buy a few out there.
Lol I take very little most of it I leave down there it’s my daft hubby can’t seem to get it that he can have a wardrobe there and here. Grace embraced that really fast and has doubles of most things so she doesn’t even need a bag !
Ah, the beauty of owning your own caravan!
I just had a cornish pastie for lunch, covered in brown sauce.
Sausage, egg and home made chips, courtesy of my sister. Lovely they were, too!!
Just had a chippy tea…fishcakes and chips and soft white buttered roll
Cous cous with vegetable kebabs.
Tinned Pineapple and ice cream for pud
I made this today which I very much recommend if you have some puff pastry in the fridge and some plums in the fruit bowl. A really impressive and delicious last-minute tear and share to have with coffee. I didn’t add the flaked almonds just the ground ones, and I think next time I will sprinkle a little cinnamon too - yum! : https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2358660/plum-and-almond-pastry
Pringles and dip, cheese and onion flan, salad
Piece of mars bar for pud
All sat in the garden in the sun while occasionally waving at ext door neighbour who seemed interested in what we were having !
