As for the Scotch Broth,it’s just barley,and any veg’ You have in the rack…carrots,leeks,turnip,potato…My Mum made it with mutton,but I just use stock cubes…Never eat it on the day I make it as 2nd day soup always tastes better ![]()

Today is a Central European Tradition, known as Fat Thursday, the day before Lent starts.
So tonight I am off for a Polish splash up.
The entire meal consists of Doughnuts and cheesecakes, washed down with copious amounts of sweet vodka in various flavours, black cherry, raspberry and strawberry flavours being my favourites.

trying to lose some weight so very little for lunch. One slice wholemeal toast with Aldi tuna with lemon and pepper. Some grapes and a banana and I’m still starving.
However, evening meal will be better. Doing homemade oven chips, steak and veggies.

Just a salad with a small pork pie and pickle for lunch.
Hubby is cooking dinner today, I think pork chops with saute potatoes is on the menu.
Lamb steaks with sweet potato mash, spinach and butter-braised fennel. I got a good deal with 4 Bramley apples for £1, so I may make baked apples to have with a scoop of vanilla ice ceam. That would be a bit of a treat
We have just had something which is a rare meal in our house and one which is a heart attack on a plate but I love it…

I had a hamburger with onions and chips for lunch …and a milky coffee
