We have been having a tin of mackeral on toast for breakfast everyday and you can trickle the juice from the tin on the dogs breakfast and he loves it too.
Im going to stock up on some home cooked dinners for the freezer this afternoon ............ I have about 10kg
s of Minced Beef which I intend to turn into portions of Chilli , Bolognese , Lasagne and some good old fashioned Cottage Pies … Should keep us going for a wee while … Will probably have some of the Cottage Pie with peas and carrots for dinner this evening
I used to do the same thing when I was working, I used to put the cottage pies into individual dishes so that hubs could haul one out of the freezer into the nuke while I was on shift.
I still do it with fish chowder, any soup I make and chilli which I think tastes better when it has been frozen and then defrosted.
Hope you enjoy your busy cooking spree Topaz.
I`m semi-retired myself Cookiecate but cant get out of the habit of cooking for a large family even though they have now flown the coop
Thing is , two of them ( sons ) come back a lot for visits and often bring chums , ergo they rely on me haviing a homecooked meal to feed them with on the spur of the moment
I also have two elderly parents who I often drop a few meals off to , just to save Mother cooking
They look yummy
I am so bored of having the same old thing everyday, so decided to get myself a cook book for quick lunch recipes, good old Jamie, good deal too

I am making home made pizza. It is really easy using a food mixer.
Lunch today is tinned pear halves and boursin on wheat thin crackers and a glassof V 8 vegetable juice … I’m still at my friend’s house.
Glad to see you eating your favourite foods again, I bet hospital food was a bit of a trial for you.
That’s putting it mildly! Food waqs awful!! Good-for-you-nutritious bland, bland bland!
I`ve just made the biggest Fish Pie in the World … LOLOL …
1 kg of Cod ( mega expensive )
1 kg of Smoked Haddock
1/2 kg King Prawns
Cauliflower
Broccoli
Tons of cheese for the sauce and topping
I reckon it will do us lot for dinner tomoz and Youngest Son`s GF is making a HUGE Trifle and Son is making some kinda fancy, smancy Bread .
For Dinner tonight though we had Pumpkin Coconut Curry with Brown Rice … It was yum
Just had Gammon and Pineapple with new potatoes and veg at the local followed with a couple of large Brandy’s.
Simple as a pimple me - veggie soup and a yoghurt.
Finally home and in my own kitchen: crab salad on a sesame seed bun, curried cauliflower and crisps (no potatoes on hand)
Pleased you are back home Eileen, nothing like your own kitchen - you can be as messy as you like. Simple again for me - Cashew nuts and fruit smoothie for lunch today.
Both your lunches sound appealing to me ( except the crab , as I hate seafood  )
I had soup and a sanger for lunch and i`m going to make sweet n sour Chicken balls in batter with Greek fried rice for dinner
Seafood is a favorite food group to me … eat far more of it than beef, pork. Nothing to do with veganism or ethics, I just like it better! Fried calamari. broiled rainbow trout, shrimp in any way, swordfish steak, salmon, tuna sandwiches … oh yum!!
A nice piece of Mackerel with new potatoes and a side salad.
Im just back from the Gym and tbh i could eat a scabby Donkey ( :-D ) , but i
m going to settle for some homemade Soup and Danish Open Sandwich … Thats my usual at lunchtime as it`s light , but filling for me
The evening meal will be eaten at my Fav vegetarian restaurant in Edinburgh with my Chum
