What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

For some reason, I feel like “breakfast for dinner” tonight : having bacon, scrambled eggs, hot buttered toast, but also a dish of fresh curried cauliflower. Odd dinner, but when you live by yourself you can cook what you want.

Your dinner sounds brilliant, I keep saying to my mother in law that you don’t have to have certain things for certain meals. She also lives alone but does not have the air of adventure that you have there dandysmom.

I started to cook pie and mash but the hob decided to fuse so I drained the potatoes and popped them in the oven with the pie and we had pie and roast pots instead. They were very nice.

Just had a nice Gammon and Pineapple with fresh veg and new potatoes.

Oh! yes, now I am having a large Brandy to help it to digest.

Number 2 son cooked chicken tagine yesterday and he gave us the leftovers to bring home so that is what will heat up in the microwave to have with crusty bread.

That sounds lovely, does he do mail order or deliver…

He would probably deliver he works for a Pizza company. I have to say it was really good.

Linguine with pesto, salad and a bit of baguette with real butter…

Yesterday for lunch, I had a Hot Roast Beef Sandwich & mashed potatoes, gravy over everything. For dinner I had chili.

Do you put red kidney beans and peppers in your chilli?

Not in the mood to cook today, will be sending out for some Chinese Food later.

We look on Sunday as a sort of abstinence day, not for any religious reason, but to offset eating too much on every other day.

We keep our meals very light and simple and we had soup and home made ciabatta roll for lunch, with just cheese and apple for tea. Roll on Monday breakfast…

Cookiecate, yes I put red kidney beans in my chili, but not chili peppers. I also use onions, garlic, ground beef, tomatoes, salt, black pepper, cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, cloves, vegetable oil & cinnamon sticks

I wasn’t much for eating today - monday. So for lunch I had 2 yogurts; for dinner I had a salad, with ranch dressing.

Thanks for that CritterMum. That is about what I put in our chilli but I was adding red, green and yellow peppers to give it colour but hubs says he prefers without peppers.

I made my famous fish chowder yesterday with home-made sunflower seed rolls.

Dinner today will be beef with celeriac mash & sauce made by adding finely chopped onions & red peppers to the pan along with cream and red wine. Add some green peppers to the sauce and cook a few brussel sprouts to go with the dish.

Rump Steak, Chips, Tinned Plumb Tomatoes.

We had roast chicken, with bacon and stuffing. Roast tatters, carrots and kurly kale wiv gravy.

I had Nandos today!

Lucky you!! I made rather a nice fish chowder.

Mackeral with new potatoes, garden peas, carrots and a large brandy to follow.
