Lunch today as always. a bowl of Albran & Special K…exciting!
Well Sweep that beats my banana and packet of crisps! I don’t eat properly and I know it.
Lunch is always the same with me: small bowl of miso soup, fruit and cheese, cup of Ensure Senior health drink (chocolate).
Fruit and cheese vary, today it’s a pear and Port Salut.

A nice piece of Haddock. Really looking forward to lunch
Now that does look very tasty, AB drools
It was very good Mags, I really enjoyed it.
Now I have a large Brandy and I am listening to ‘The Rat Pack’ A Night on the Town.
Zuppa di Brodo e Pomidori, salad, roll. That’s a tasty Tuscan soup with bread, cheese, fresh ground pepper, tomatoes, rosemary and garlic.
Friday night is chippy night-lightly battered fish, chips and mushy peas followed by pot of tea…very tasty!
A favorite diner: broiled swordfish steak, fresh spinach, curreied potatoes.
Lunch at some Local establishment so it depends what is on the menu
i had a chippy for tea! my son and i always have a chippy every monday
I had pheasant as the men have been beating today yum yum
Very elegant, Cassie! Only had pheasant once … bought at the market; not too fond of it, very little meat…
No-cook Monday here: ham and cheese sandwich on a sesame seed bun, curried cauliflower and crisps.
it wasnt elegant lol it was 3 of them in a casserole and us stood in the kitchen eating it from small pudding basins, bums against the rayburn deciding who was going to hang the new ones in the outhouse ie. venture back out in the cold lol
Just discovered stovies in Greggs they are large round bread/english muffin type creatures with holes in the middle. They are wonderful toasted with sausage and eggs. They are big so they can be cut up to share.
Then I discoverd another type of stovie which is fried onions, then add raw sliced potatoes, carrots, parsnips, turnips anything really put the lid on and let it all steam for 1 hour. By the way the onions should be fried in dripping from roast beef. After an hour add a tin of corned beef or left over roast meat. You can then serve it or you can grate cheese over it and pop it under the grill, or you can put it into a pastry case it is warming, cheap wholesome.
I will be having Scottish potato scones tomorrow. That’s how good they are. I have to travel about 80 km to get them from a little shop down south but they are worth the trip. Hot with melted butter. Mmmmm. They are from the one and only scottish bakery in South Australia and they are great. Can’t wait.
Dinner: linguine with pesto, large tossed salad, ciabatta roll
Troopie, I know what it’s like to travel for something you enjoy, we have driven from Milton Keynes down to Portsmouth to get some fish and chips which are soo so good. However, you could make your own potato scones. I have just found a dear little recipe book of Scottish recipes and there is one in there if you would like it.
I do hope you enjoy your journey and the scones at the end.
Just had bacon for lunch with a plain omlette and stewed rhubarb and loganberries for pud. Scrummy.
I’m headed to lunch right now: small bowl of miso soup, pear, Port Salut cheese and a senior chocolate energy drink.
