What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

hahaha you made me laugh out loud…I quite like it though with honey, fresh pear and nuts for breakfast

Errrgh - yuk!!! - I prefer a good Irish breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage and all the other trimmings.

Got to be salad it’s getting too hot to cook again, cottage cheese or eggs or some ham for the meat eater(s). Just see what everyone wants when they get home.

Got some nice homemade bread rolls for anyone wanting them and friend gave me a huge jar of home pickled onions which my husband will love.

Yesterday in Tesco picked a couple of chickens for less (just) than a fiver, only titchy things but ample for two. Anyway cooked one immediately and when it had cooled stripped off the breasts and made son a huge container of pasta salad, threw in everything but the kitchen sink. Today will strip the rest of the carcass, have some of the meat in a normal salad me self, and use the bones to make a stock for a soup for him tomorrow. Just to ensure the meat does not disintegrate I usually put some in the bottom of the container, then add the soup when it is cold. Not bad, three dinners from a chicken costing under £2.50. And it is so tender too.

Just had boring Egg Salad.

Just had ‘bangers’ & mash - I don’t pander to heat or humidity - I have an air cooler to take care of that.

We have one too UJ but only put it on for the dogs, swelter away in the kitchen with a little fan, cooler in there now so did egg on toast which was very nice on my return from work.

Its going to be Bangers and Mash with onion gravy today.

Salad again today either chicken or cheese depends who is eating it, and making a magic chocolate cake for pudding, sauce starts on the top but ends up underneath when baked always amuses the kids.

Well, yesterday I discovered that he’d eaten the piece of chicken I’d cooked for myself to have cold (he’s not been eating chicken).

Just how the food situation pans out today is anyone’s guess … watch this space for further revelations ;-)

Decamp to the pub for a lovely pub meal - on Sundays a full Roast would be appropriate Rachel darlin’

The pub in my high street closed down several years ago :frowning:

A trip out in the countryside then??? - I can certainly recommend a few pubs down this part of the world that serve excellent pub lunches Rachel darlin’

No transport and it’s too hot to get trains, buses annat

Guess where my lunch (today’s) went aswell

Okay, am truly confused now Rachel, who keeps eating your food, and why are you seemingly allowing them to get away with it?

:confused::confused:

He-who-shall-not-be-named eats stuff when I’m not looking and doesn’t tell me

I do see him scoffing the ice cream but other stuff vanishes ~ sometimes when I’ve gone to bed, I think lol

I’ve tried hiding the food but I’m not always successful.

He seems to have a bit of a problem !

Rachel, maybe just maybe you are not feeding him enough. He’s a man and they have bottomless pits. Just ask Uncle Joe.

Vegetarian sausages with broccoli and cauliflower.

Well I’d love to feed him and make proper meals but he prefers to get his own food and kind of ‘grazes’ at will, eating salads (he likes to make them himself), frozen mixed vegetables and the occasional veggie sausage (microwaved).

He’s constantly saying he’s on a diet

Rachel darlin’ just cook a meal and plonk it down in front of him - diet or no - I’m sure he’ll eat it if he’s hungry enough!!!
