Have raided my freezer and found a Steak * Kidney pudding. Will peel and chop suitable accompanying veg and make a drop of gravy and I’m sorted.
That sounds good. Love a good s&k pud.
Just had mine, grilled salmon with sorrel sauce, green beans, and a little rum and raisin pudding.
A bit meh, really
Chicken thigh, carrots and cabbage for meat eater
marrow, carrots and cabbage with a veggie burger for me.
Fish fingers chips and peas for sproglet,
Jag darlin’ I have some Salmon in my freezer too and sometime in the week will defrost it, Place a knob of butter on it, wrap it in foil and cook in the oven. To accompany it I have some Lemon and Parsley Couscous.
Today is a lower cal day for me. Only way I can keep weight off is to eat less on some days… Butter and a stack of new spuds would have definitely improved matters lol ![]()
You’d be no good around me Jag darlin’ - as others on here will tell you I have a very large appetite!!!
Despite the high (summer???) temperatures - my room thermostat never dropped below 21 o C last night, have taken the liver and bacon out of the freezer and when it has defrosted later this morning, will make myself a liver & bacon casserole.
Got a vegetarian Cornish pasty so will divide that up between us, with broccoli and peas.
We have just eaten Sausages, Mash and bake beans with onion gravy.
Broccoli. cauliflower and carrots in a gorgonzola (cheese is on offer at Tesco at the moment) sauce.
He certainly did, but with a last minute change of baked spud, and also threw some baby sweet corn and cherry toms onto the griddle, the look on his face when he saw it all was a picture, but all the same there was nowt left except the bone.
And tonight he is going to cook sweet and sour prawns with boiled rice. Possibly jelly and ice cream for pud.
baked potatoes, faggots in gravy, carrots and swede, cabbage
Grilled swordfish steak with lemon butter, potatoes and haricots verts.
A cornetto type thingy with exotic fruits sorbet for dessert.
Looking at the time I had better go and get cracking on making it…
That reminds me, I have some ‘fresh’ faggots in the freezer from butcher in the market, they are huge and at 30p each a good deal. I usually do them the old fashioned way, two per ovenproof dish, pour over a tin of processed peas including the ‘juice’ and place in oven for an hour or so, they absorb most of that pea juice and swell up, the top develops a little crust, then serve, with plenty of black pepper and vinegar and a crusty roll they are delish.
Gonna have the salmon steaks on a bed of Lemon & Parsley couscous today.
My wife is going to cook pasta for lunch. Linguine with lemon and asparagus. Can’t wait for lunch…
That sounds yummy! Even better - someone is making it for you!
Got some lambs liver here so liver and onions with cabbage and carrots for meat eater, will see if sproglet likes liver too as she hasn’t had it before. Cauliflower cheese soufflé for me and for sproglet if she doesn’t like the liver.
Julie, you positively can’t have liver without the streaky bacon slices too - just not done!!!
