My husband did a roast chicken with veggies and a protein shake for me strawberry flavour today.
Maureen darlin’ - snap!!! - I had roast chicken too with roast tatties, parsnips and carrots, but unlike you can’t have cabbage, indeed none of the brassicas as it interferes with my Warfarin medication.
Cooked a turkey thingy yesterday (£2.50 in the freezer cabinet, very tasty). Also just cooked all the roasties (tats, kohl rabi and parsnip), stuffing and sausage meat cooked also. Did all this early so I could finish packing and do the ironing. Just printed off my holiday confirmation, so will shortly get the dinner back on. Also will have carrot and broc, and yorkie.
Oh, and some ham.
Anything left over will go in a food box to take with me in the morning. I do love a bit of cold dinner!

We are having Gammon and Vegs. today.
Well, yesterday, that is Tuesday was my birthday and my son put himself at my disposal, so, we started off with a breakfast at local cafe which does excellent full English, rasher of bacon, dippy egg black pudding and mushrooms (all cooked on a flat top so not so greasy, with beans and hot toast plus one of the best cappuccinos in the area. Then it was of to Cardiff bay for the day, and what a glorious day today was, blue skies barely any cloud and actually quite warm too. So a trip by boat around the bay itself, saw loads of waterfowl in the wetlands reserve, then a visit to the visitors centre (that curved golden building featured in Torchwood), then before we left we spotted a place with the very odd and intriguing name of Wagamama. Which turned out to be a Japanese restaurant which featured, among other things a dish called Ramen, which is a huge bowl of delicate broth containing meats or seafood and noodles and veg, you eat the solid food with chopsticks then raise the bowl and ‘slurp’ the broth until it is all gone. My son is a huge fan of Anime and has always wanted to try this dish so in we went. He, of course had his Ramen and I had something called Yaki Soba, a delicious noodle dish with chicken and shrimp and pickled ginger and we had a side of bok choi. I also had three cups of their delicious, and free, green tea, and they gave me a container of the leaves to take with me. And I have only just remembered I had promised pancakes when we got home! Ah well tomorrow then (well actually later today). He also bought me a big bottle of Obsession and a thing called a ‘back knobber’. An odd device for massaging painful muscles.
Took a chicken breast out of the freezer earlier this morning - when its defrosted will cook it, but undecided as to whether to have a chinese or Indian meal - will decide later when I come to cook it.
tuna, lettuce and mayo sarnie for lunch as ever and for supper a cold chick breast I cooked yesterday with either roasted peppers or green beans
