Last night we too had some gammon but we had it with fried egg and chips, tinned toms for me, beans for son. Have to say that gravy with gammon is not something I would relish, or even consider. As for tonight have no idea. Was having a brevit in the upright freezer the other day looking for something I knew I had, and came across about eight pork steaks packed in pairs, son loves, as he puts it ‘a nice bit of pig’ so having it again tonight would not be a problem, but how to prepare? Sliced very very thinly and in some sort of stir fry/chow mein type dish, with noodles or egg fried rice? Or grilled with veggies and gravy? Hmm will have to give it some thought.
mmm I’m coming to dinner Grumblewagon. ![]()

Just had some vegetable soup, and tonight son and I will be having one of his fave meals, creamed spuds, thick slices of corned beef heated through under grill (it goes all soft and delicious) with baked beans. Unfortunately, even though he his 30 he still mashes the lot together before eating. But as he says, this is not all that different to the mix in corned beef pasties.
