What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

This afternoon it was Chicken Curry, Rice, Onion Bharjee & Samosa.

Doing pizzas here, have a load of toppings and some home made bases, so everyone can just make up their own and I’ll pop them in the oven later on.

We had Turkey again.

Chicken chips and peas for the meat eaters and tomato soup with some chips for veggies.

Made a steamed chocolate pudding with chocolate custard for the sugar eaters.

Did far too much so the dogs are sleeping off chicken chips and peas with chocolate custard poured over it too.

More Turkey and roast vegetables again - YUM!!!

Ideas for left over turkey http://www.food.com/recipe-finder/all/leftover-turkey

Not Turkey left over from Xmas but a new Turkey crown which is currently cooking in the slow cooker as I write (will be eating this evening)

We just had our lunch of Chicken Kiev, roast potatoes and vegs.

Tonight Bread and Butter Pudding.

Steak and mushroom pie for meat eaters and beans on toast for me.

I put the link on for anyone looking for turkey left over ideas.

Two minted lamb shanks in gravy with charlotte new pots, carrots and runner beans, with apple pie and cream to follow. Will be making some corned beef pasties later for tomorrow.

Quick amendment to above, just found some strawberries and blueberries lurking in 'fridge, forgot about them, so pudding will now be an inventive strawberry and blueberry crumble with almonds and oats in the crumble.

Cate darlin’ - my previous comment wasn’t intended as a criticism, merely by way of explanation and thank you anyway for the idea of left-over Turkey.

SorrY Uncle Joe, I didn’t mean to sound harsh, just saw your message as we were going out to take the dog for a walk. Why else would anyone be daft enough to go out. Oh yes everyone, to buy more food…

Today I have my Mum for the day, we are having Chicken Breasts, Roast Pots. and vegs.

New Years Day with Bangers and Mash with onion gravy.

Will be cooking some pork and sweet chilli meatballs for son and serving them in a tomato sauce with pasta, I found some cod and broccoli mornay in freezer and that will do me with some mash and extra veggies.

I am thoroughly fed up of having to think what to have every day, I do not mind shopping for or preparing meals, just hate having to think what that meal will be, anyone else have this problem. Years ago my mum used to say she hoped she would live long enough to see the day when we merely had to pop a pill three times a day, and I used to mock her, now I see where she was coming from.

Got a piece of ham I boiled (Tesco £4) it’s made 4 main meals and enough left over if anyone wants a sandwich later, baked potatoes and peas.

Had a nice cheesy baked potato my self.

Yes DM, I get sick of trying to think what meals to make. At the moment I have son and daughter coming for tea every night (almost). Son goes back to his place in Mount Gambier Saturday and then just have daughter (who lives a couple of blocks away) for at least 5 nights per week.

I just scrounge around in the freezer and fridge and then make up my mind.

Last night found a couple of containers of frozen left over rice, so made that into fried rice with frozen bacon pieces, egg and some frozen peas, cooked some chicken thighs which were also in the freezer, found some cabbage in the fridge added some frozen peas, corn, carrots. Cut up some onion, fried that in butter, added the chicken, peas,
carrot, corn and cabbage. Last minute added some cashews I found in the cupboard. Also had a couple of spring rolls (home made) each for entree with sweet chilli sauce or Soy sauce. Then they had home made icecream, with little apple pies.

It’s home cooked fish and chips tonight. Have made the batter already, the fish cut up. Then just need to throw the chips in the deep fryer.

I don’t stick to any of these recipes but they do give me some ideas. You can type in what ever ingredients you have and the site will come up with suggestions.
