What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Just had cottage pie, peas and parsnips.

Bangers and Mash today.

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, leeks and cauliflower and carrots today with Yorkshire pud.

Last night was pork chops with broccoli, carrots creamed spuds and gravy for me, and ditto with a corn on the cob and butter instead of gravy for son.

This evening we are going cinema to see Enders Game. (The books were brilliant and just hoping that they have not ruined them), and the cinema is in a complex which includes one of those chinese buffet places, a Nando’s, a Harvesters, a Frankie and Bennies, a MaccyD, a Subway and a pub/restaurant (although having just read reviews for this place that one is not being considered). Probably the Harvesters, depending on how hungry we feel. I think that Nando’s is a big rip off, dislike MaccyD, and F&B is ok but a bit overpriced.

Tonight for tea is a big pot of chicken curry soup, yum yum.

I have bought some Chow Mein to eat later tonight.

Had my roast lunchtime (still not washed up), beef slices, cauli cheese, potatoes, parsnip and sweet potato, leeks, carrot and broc, and two ready made yorkies.

Knocked up a quick mushroom soup earlier so will have that for supper.

We are having Gammon roast today, and probably a sandwich tonight.

Got to do something about my fat body - stop eating!!

Well in the end we opted for the Chinese buffet place, so had lots of little portions of lots of different things, most of which were delish (there were a couple of ‘soups’ on offer which looked like the sort of thing you see in jars in autopsy scenes - shudders if I knew how would insert the little green man here).

Several months ago I purchased from Tesco, from the reduced section, a pair of vacuum packed chunks of venison at a very low price. They have been sitting in the freezer waiting for me to decide what to do. However, during the summer a visit to Cardiff Bay found us at a food fair at which my son tried a venison burger which he declared to be beyond delicious, so out with the mincer and venison burgers it is.

Oh DM - NO!!! - sacrilege!!! instead of mincing and making burgers of them, why not marinade (equal parts Soy Sauce, Worcester Sauce & Balsamic Vinegar), and casserole them. Much healthier, more nutricious and truly fabulous!!!

Main meal today

Salmon en Croute for me.

Sounds nice! Welcome to the forum.

Probably the last of the chips that came with my fishnchips Friday, together with a budget priced lasagne. Plenty of cheese on top, into oven, chips in frying pan. Lovely.

Brenda darlin’ - good morning and welcome. Did you or your place suffer at all in yesterday’s rough weather???

Took pork chop from freezer a little while ago. When it defrosts will make a pork chop casserole.

Today we had Chicken, Leek and Bacon Pie with oven cubed potatoes and beans.

Welcome to our forum Brenda :lol:

We had Pasta Bolognaise.

Reduced price lamb shank for this evening, with carrot, leek, broc and mashed potato.

Chicken and leek pie with spud topping and garden peas

Chicken stir fry, with noodles and black bean sauce.
Hubby cooks this dish and it’s very tasty - probably all the better because I don’t cook it, just help with preparing the veg

Fish pie with some lovely line caught haddock…
…when I get off here to make it
