I had potato, onion, cauiflower and cheese pie with baked beans followed by bakewell tart with ice cream.

Green tea, an orange, and a handful of almonds. Tired, that will do me just fine tonight.

Am out for the day today - being entertained (and fed) by a couple of friends - but have to travel to get there. Have no idea what’s on the menu (will let you all know when I get back)

Looking at baked potato with vegetables today

Lunchtime today we will be having Lamb Shanks with Roast Potatoes, Baked Onion, Parsnips, Carrots & Peas.

I’ve just made a huge pan of celery soup for lunch to have with crusty rolls.

Do you have a recipe for the soup ? only time I have made celery soup it has tasted a bit soapy !

Scrambled Eggs on toast and a cup of green tea. Simple but delicious.

Here you are Julie:-

4 sticks celery
1 onion
2 medium potatos
4 cloves garlic
mixed herbs
6 cups of stock

Boil until soft, then I use the stock they have boiled in and put it all in the blender but in 2 batches. I then season to taste.

You can use chicken stock if you prefer.

Thank you much simpler than the recipe I tried sounds lovely will give that a go.

I’ve edited the post Julie.

Thank you !

I am back!! did anyone miss me? no? thought not, anyway, bought a small bunch of rhubarb the other day, not really enough to fill a pie or even for a crumble. So a sort of ‘conglomeration’. First off I cut the rhubarb into three inch pieces and placed on baking tray and into a low medium oven. (less liquification this way)then prepared shortcrust pastry and placed in cling film in 'fridge. Removed rhubarb from oven once it was soft and set aside, then after pastry had rested for half an hour, prepared pastry case with a raised edge and baked blind, meanwhile prepared Nigel Slaters crumble mix (using butter, flour, rolled oats and demerara sugar). When crust was lightly browned, removed from oven and removed greaseproof and baking beans and put back in oven for five mins to set base (no soggy bottoms here). Then finally assembled, that is put rhubarb in case, added sprinkle of castor sugar (not a lot just maybe teaspoon or two), and topped with the crumble mix, back in medium oven until top brown and crispy. Served with Elmlea, Yum and double yum! Dinner? Oh well, new potatoes lamb shanks (boil in bag variety from M&B (Or is it B&M can never remember) 2 for £3.50, with carrots, runner beans, cauliflower.

Hello Des - welcome back

Well thank you Pats. My hard drive just suddenly ups and died on me. Thanks to sons insistence on his company’s “whatever happens” scheme I have had it back already. (I now have mentioned it before yada yada, sorry) unfortunately they were unable to retrieve all my favourites, and had forgotten all passwords etc. But am slowly getting there.

Dont like the sound of that gal - I’d be lost, pity you didn’t make a note of yer passwords, I have a little telephone book for them …
