What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Chicken Siir fry with beans shoots etc…

Smoked haddock, creamy mash and petit pois for us today.

Aaahhhh so you’re a ‘prawn in the game’ Jan darlin’.:lol::lol:

Hi Janet, nice to have you back on here again, I miss you.

Tonight we are having 2 very thick Gammon Steaks with pineapple on top, mash potatoes, mushrooms and beans.

Lovely lamb chops with stir fry. Picked up a bag of Tesco’s ‘Everyday’ stir fry (frozen) its packed with all sorts of vegetables and very cheap and tasty.

Tonight we had Steak Pie & Chips.

Tonight I only fancied something light, must confess to having a bag of chips from the fish and chip shop lunchtime. So am having smoked peppered salmon with lemon juice Taw Valley mature cheddar and Garlic mayonnaise and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon hic zzzzzz

Do I presume Halal steak (and Pork) pie Susie darlin’???:lol::lol:

Whey Hey!!! Its Sunday again!!! That means full Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. I also have a cherry pie, so I can heat that and make up some custard and have cherry pie and custard for ‘pudding’.

Indian Take-away at lunchtime today, Chicken tikka, Rice & Garlic Nan Bread. Tonight homemade soup, Lentil & Vegs.

A Tesco deep roast chicken pie (heavily reduced yesterday) broccoli, french beans, sweetcorn, and carrots with mash and gravy for us methinks.

No 100% English Beef UJ.

Will be cooking (Halal) Pork sausages and mash later today.:lol::lol:

We are having a roast tonight of Piri Piri Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Swede & Brocolli.

I think about what we are having for our main meal of the day just before I am about to prepare it, I like to keep it simple, but hopefully reasonably nutritious.

Tonight we are having Lamb Casserole, 2 1/2 hrs. cooking on low heat.

Very nice indeed

I had wild salmon tail-end, it’s half price at the moment in Waitrose. They put it in these bags and you can have butter, lemon and parsley in with it and then they seal them, I just had lemon and parsley. You just put the salmon in the bag in the oven and cook it. It’s very nice. I also had frozen veg and a baked potatoe, followed by a natural yogurt.

How about that for healthy eating

Do you have a slow cooker? lamb casserole done for hours in one of them is wonderful and the whole house smells divine. Doesn’t have to be lamb, cheap pieces of beef even chicken soup is a very special slow cooker dish.

Hi Cate,

No I don’t have a slow cooker, I just cut my lamb into cubes with vegs. and stock, in a Casserole Dish and bake in the oven on 160 degrees for 2 1/2 hrs.

Tonight its just tin Stewing steak, Cheese, onion & potato pie & Beans.

Slow cookers are becoming cheaper and cheaper, I love mine and often chuck loads of veggies in the pot with chicken and just leave it to eventually make a soup. Which is exactly what is going on today.
