Tonight we are having Wild Salmon, Husband is having potatoes and vegs, I am having salad with mine.
I love salmon, tinned or fresh.
Thanks for reminding me… I have just taken some lamb chops out of the freezer.
Home made veg soup, braised steak and onions with steamed red potatoes and spring greens. Have got 1 banana left will either have it with custard or put it on my face apparently it makes a wonderful face mask, nothing else just mashed up leave ffor 10 mins and rinse off. :-D:-D
Hazel darlin’ wicked waste of good food, go buy a couple more, chop up into small bits, placed in a basin, add flour, margarine, walnut pieces, eggs and mixed fruit and make Banana fruit loaf.
Did contemplate scaping it off my face and seeing what I could make of it ;-)
Might do that for Mike next time he’s down, not scraping it of my face obviously.
Morning all. Its Chicken Curry again tonight as its shopping day.
I too am having chicken Susie darlin’ but not sure yet whether to make a curry, sweet & sour, Black bean & garlic, or a chasseur - decisions, decisions.:twisted::twisted:
I have the old leg of beef in the slow cooker so will bung some dumplings in later and have with potatoes and peas. It was meant to be cold today and that was to warm us up but right now it is lovely out there!
Sounds lovely Moyra darlin’ - what time are you serving up??? - will be on the next train with my plate, knife and fork.
Potato pie ,with a big fat crust ,carrots and swede and redcabbage .Followed by Apple crumble and custard .
Am on my way if you start 'fore I get there save me some please.;-);-):-D:-D
I’m having Sunday roast with chicken we always do on Wednesday’s.
Once every four weeks (sons pay day to be exact) we either have a take away or go out for a meal, this time it will be curry. Unfortunately today woke up with my one eye all swollen, so tonight it depends on whether it subsides sufficiently to be seen in public, although have to say that recently a fantastic India take out has opened in the village, but then the last time we went to the restaurant in town I had an amazing Ostrich curry, yes people, ostrich!! and when it came they flambéed it at the table and it was delicioso!! (for anyone wanting to argue, blame spell checker for the strange flambéed spelling).
DM - yes, Ostrich meat is magnificent - my butcher sells it and I make Ostrich casserole. Very healthy as there’s no fat at all, just good solid flesh.
Today I had an interesting meal myself. Chopped a chicken breast into bite sized pieces, placed in frying pan with a little oil, onion, garlic, & mushrooms and fried for a few minutes. Added some (Iceland) Golden Rice & veg, soy sauce, ground ginger and 1/2pt chicken stock. Turned down heat and allowed to simmer. As sauce was a little ‘thin’ added some corn flour to thicken. It was fabulous!!!
Chicken Casserole tonight for dinner.
(Iceland) steak & Kidney pudding with: Sweet potato, parsnip, celeriac, carrot and leek. How’s that for my five-a-day???
A very simple cheese and tomato on toasted French bread.
Spagetti bolognaise.
Salmon fillet, microwaved with butter, plus cauliflower cheese (a bit of a strange mix, but I had a lot of cauliflower left over from yesterday and had to do something with it).
Fridays my husband has Fish and Chips , which I no longer eat , so I made myself a Prawn Salad, made with our lovely West Australian Tiger Prawns . Very tasty even if I do say so myself .
