You would have been fired as Sugar Alan would say, and he’s Jewish.
The Jews are very strict in their ways and you must abide by their rules. I forgot to say, that the gravy will be runny so just had a tea. of cornflour to it, it should look like a off white/fawn colour. Can you get the Jewish Instant Stock Soup where you live? because I had to order mine from Israel, or if you live in a Jewish area then you can buy it in their Grocer shops.
Susie darlin’ - if you have a WAITROSE near you - have a look in there - they tend to have a lot of ‘jewish’ foods that other supermarkets don’t stock.
Ahhh that’s the trouble of living out in the wilds Susie darlin’ () in the big cities we have choices - a short (2 stops) bus ride from me and I have the choice of the Co-op, Aldi, Iceland, & sainsburys.
Tonight I have just had squid, king prawns and chunks of chicken breast, all pan fried in butter and then finished off in the pan with a creamy white wine sauce with plenty of pepper. Served with basmati rice. Fruit and yoghurt to follow. A bit of a concoction and I must admit the white wine sauce was not home made, but it all seemed to work, so I’ll probably do it again.
I really like paella Susie and I could have made one, except that I had opened this tin of white wine sauce by mistake (thought it was a tin of dog food) so I had to use it up or waste it.
Wheyyyyyyyyyyyy - its ‘Burns night’!!! - time for my Haggis, neeps and tatties!!! - Have Hagis, have (sweet potato), parsnips, and celeriac. Can make a delightful ‘mash’ of those to accompany the Haggis.
Due to a series of accidents I never did get my Haggis yesterday, had Faggots potatoes and veg instead. Haggis can wait till Monday as I already have planned both today’s and tomorrow’s lunches.
I have to ask UJ as my imagination is now running riot was the accident involving a particular haggis? did said haggis make a get away to the hills? As a child I was told that haggis were sometimes difficult to catch and some were very very old as they had managed to escape the hunter for years.
No Cate darlin’ - Haggis is safely stashed in my fridge awaiting Monday. The problem was one of time and hunger. Had some errands to undertake which delayed preparation of meal. On return, was too hungry to wait another 90 minutes whilst Haggis cooked.
got a lovely piece of brisket in slow cooker with celery, onions, carrots, parsnips peas and potatoes and herbs, all cooking slowly away smells beautiful. mmmmmm
