What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

I’ve never eaten venison either Susan, but by the sounds of it I couldn’t be bothered to cook it if it took that long…

Today I’ve made cheese and bacon macaroni for lunch, one of our favourite pasta dishes. Here’s the recipe:wink:

Thanks for the recipe Barry. It’s sounds delicious.
I will certainly be trying that one.

No Susie darlin’ - it’s not like steak. Yes it’s a red meat and VERY rich and quite a strong but unique flavour. You have to be very careful cooking it - too fast and you won’t sink your teeth in it but be able to sole your shoes with it. For best results it needs to marinade for a while - overnight is good. Venison marinaded in Port is fabulous (reserve the Port to make the gravy). Venison casserole is a really good, satisfying meal!!!

Lamb casserole for us with carrots and potatoes.
I love lamb mmmm.

It was Homemade Shepherd’s Pie tonight.

I’m a Coeliac so I have to eat a gluten free diet
I’ve had a very productive afternoon cooking a vegetable lasagne and huge bowl of butternut squash/chilli/pepper soup.
Lasagne is for the freezer and soup is for tea tomorrow, having my daughter to stay for the week :o)

Pasta with 4 cheeses & caramalised onion sauce ,

Sweet Mince Pies to follow, (the testers for Christmas they passed),

Its Lamb Casserole and Vegetables tonight.

Roast chicken thighs, potatoes and veg with gravy.

roast lamb, baked potatoes, roast parsnips and carrots, cauli and steamed leeks, followed by apple crumble and custard.

Roast pork with stuffing, chips and peas. With bread and butter.mmm.

We had Jewish Chicken Penicilian tonight for dinner, which is really a Chicken stew, the Jews have this on Passover, or if they have a cold.

Sounds interesting Susie. What goes into it?

Hi Mesco, You have to buy Chicken thighs with the skin on, boil them with onions for 1 hr. Take the thighs out, take of skin and bone, leave to one side, the rest of the water, put 1 tablespoon of Jewish instant Soup Mix, pepper, mixed herbs, and a few sweetcorn, 1 teas. cornflour, shred the chicken up and put into mixture, cook for another 15 mins.

Susie xx

That sounds a nice easy recipe. I’ll have to go into the city centre for the Jewish instant soup. Not seen it where I do my shopping. Thanks Susie

The Laird’s been Playing with my Slow Cooker Today and made a Chicken Curry…So that will be for Dinner Tonight along with White Rice. Now I like Mild Curry and he likes Hot…So I don’t know how this will turn out as he said he didn’t put a lot of Curry Powder in the Mix…We Shall See.
Stand by with the Huge Jug of Water for me. :100:

Roxy, never have water or wine to cool your mouth down when eating a hot curry, as this makes it worse, try have a Naan Bread, Pitta Bread or a
Slice of Bread instead.

Hi Mesco, where abouts do you live? In England? Susie xx

Yes, just outside of Manchester city centre.

I’ll Remember that. Thanks
